Position Overview
Denise Powell for Congress (NE-02) is the top Democratic pickup opportunity in the country. Nebraska’s
2nd Congressional District is an open seat — one of only three Harris-won districts still held by
Republicans — and is rated Lean Democratic by Cook Political Report. On May 12, Denise won a
competitive Democratic primary and now faces Trump-endorsed Brinker Harding in November.
A working mom, small business owner, and community advocate, Denise just won her primary election,
raising $1.7M from 9,000+ individual donors and attaining 60+ local and national endorsements,
including EMILYs List, New Dems, Elect Democratic Women, BOLD PAC, and The Bench. With House
Majority PAC reserving nearly $3M in the district already, NE-02 is on every must-win list in 2026.
Denise Powell for Congress is seeking a strategic, metrics-driven Organizing Director to build and lead the
campaign’s voter outreach program in one of the most competitive congressional races in the country.
Working closely with the Campaign Manager, the Organizing Director will own the strategy and
day-to-day execution of the organizing plan, manage a team of Field Organizers, and recruit, train, and
manage the volunteers who power our path to victory.
Core Responsibilities
• Lead the organizing program: Own the management, strategy, and execution of the campaign’s
voter outreach program in partnership with the Campaign Manager.
• Build a metrics-driven plan: Develop and track the goals, benchmarks, and reporting that keep
the organizing program on pace to hit campaign targets.
• Manage day-to-day operations: Run the daily operations of the organizing plan, troubleshooting
in real time and adjusting to keep the program on schedule.
• Manage the field team: Hire, train, and supervise a team of Field Organizers, setting clear
expectations and holding the team accountable to its goals.
• Recruit and develop volunteers: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to expand the campaign’s
voter contact capacity and achieve its organizing goals.
Qualifications
• At least one cycle of experience as a Field Organizer is required; two or more cycles of organizing
experience strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.
• A meticulous eye for detail and the discipline to keep a lot of moving pieces on track.
• Staff or intern management experience is a strong plus.
Requirements
• Access to a personal vehicle, laptop, and cell phone.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends as the calendar demands.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Omaha, NE; this is an in-person role.
• Position runs from immediate start through November 2026.
