JOB DESCRIPTION

Field Organizer for PA HDCC

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The PA House Democratic Campaign Committee is seeking qualified individuals to serve as Field Organizers for competitive State House campaigns in Northeast PA. The PA HDCC has identified several districts as top tier race and holding this seat is crucial to hold Democrats’ one seat majority in the state house. This race will be extremely competitive.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruit, train and manage volunteers for canvassing and phonebanking events.

  • Must be able to meet weekly metric goals for Canvassing, Volunteer Recruitment, and Phonebanking. Applicants should expect to make 200+ canvass attempts per week.

  • Develop and maintain good relationships with local volunteers, grassroots organizations, and local community stakeholders.

  • Provide daily/weekly reports on voter contact and volunteer recruitment to supervisors.

  • Work with Campaign manager, Candidate, and the HDCC to plan and execute canvass launches and community outreach events.

  • Must work well with other campaigns and community groups.

  • Must maintain a high level of professionalism and work well under pressure.

  • Assist with duties as assigned.

APPLICANTS SHOULD POSSESS:

  • Prior organizing or campaign experience preferred.

  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment;

  • Ability to work effectively as team member;

  • Strong oral and written communication skills;

  • Commitment to the values and ideals of the Democratic Party;

  • A car, a laptop, and a cell phone;

  • Proficiency with VoteBuilder and G-Suite/Microsoft Office Suite is preferred;

  • Familiarity with Northeast PA and Pennsylvania politics is preferred.

Salaries range from $3,500-$4,500/month, including a platinum level healthcare package with dental and vision.

This is a full-time position based near Wilkes-Barre, PA.
