Position summary
We are seeking a highly skilled, efficient, and versatile Video Editor / Motion Graphics Artists to expand our freelance pool. In this role, you will craft high-impact, persuasive video content for television and digital advertising, specifically within the progressive political and advocacy space. This is not a role for casual, short-form social media editing (e.g., TikToks/Reels). We need professionals who understand short-form ad copy, know how to capture attention in the first 2 seconds, and can weave together compelling narratives, striking motion graphics, and clean post-production under tight campaign deadlines.
Key responsibilities
● Ad-length content creation: Cut, pace, and deliver polished linear TVC and digital programmatic ads in standard formats: 30-second, 15-second, and 6-second spots.
● Motion graphics & compositing: Use After Effects, or Fusion, to build engaging TOS, dynamic lower thirds, data visualizations, and clean transitions that elevate the messaging.
● Rapid turnaround: Deliver high-quality first drafts within 1–2 days, executing revisions quickly and accurately.
● Full Post-Production: Take ownership of the edit from brief to final delivery, including sound design/audio mixing, color grading, and dialogue pacing. Required qualifications
● At least 4 years of both motion design and post-production video editing experience
● High proficiency in Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro
● High proficiency in After Effects, or Fusion: mastery of animation principles, expressions, tracking, and compositing.
● Strong foundational knowledge of color correction/grading, audio clean-up, sound effects (SFX) placement, and audio ducking.
● A holistic understanding of the entire production pipeline (from script and storyboard to legal clearances, archiving, and final delivery).
● Ability to maintain a cool head and attention to detail during fast-paced election cycles or rapid-response moments.
