JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is employed by Families for an Affordable San Francisco (FFASF), the field and organizing program supporting Scott Wiener's 2026 campaign for Congress (CA-11).

About the Campaign

Senator Scott Wiener is a leading voice for progress in California and a proven champion for our values. Scott has delivered real results on issues like housing, transportation, climate change, LGBTQ+ equality, and criminal justice reform. Now, he's running for Congress to bring his effective, progressive leadership to Washington, D.C. His campaign is building a diverse, passionate, and dedicated team to engage voters across the city and secure victory in 2026.

Position Summary

The AAPI Organizer will help build and execute the campaign's AAPI organizing program working directly alongside the AAPI organizing lead. This is a relationship-driven, community-facing role focused on building trust with Chinese American and broader AAPI community members and merchants, planning and executing events, and driving online engagement through social media. Success in this role will hinge on meeting weekly goals tied to identifying community leads, recruiting campaign supporters, executing events, and recruiting volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the campaign’s Chinese American and broader AAPI organizing efforts in partnership with the AAPI organizing lead.

  • Build and maintain relationships with Chinese American and AAPI community members, merchants, and leaders.

  • Plan and execute AAPI-focused events from start to finish, including working with merchants, securing venues, coordinating event logistics, supporting volunteer management and follow-up.

  • Create and distribute Chinese-language content, such as graphics, posts, and text messages, across social media

  • Execute strategic communications to advance Team Wiener’s vision and policies

  • Recruit and convert supporters into active volunteers who host, share, and turn others out.

  • Persuade and mobilize voters through direct voter contact programs such as door knocking, phone banking, and community events.

  • Track and report on event and volunteer progress.

Goals & Metrics

  • Number of AAPI events planned and executed per month.

  • Attendance per event.

  • Social media content distributed per month (e.g., graphics/posts created per week).

  • Volunteers converted to active and super-volunteers.

  • Voter contact goals through organizing outreach programs

Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Cantonese is required; the ability to read and write Chinese is a plus.

  • Strong ties to — or a demonstrated ability to build in — San Francisco's Chinese American and AAPI communities.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow through

  • Experience in community organizing, field, or events (electoral experience a plus).

  • Proficiency with VAN (PDI experience ok as a stand-in), Mobilize, and other campaign technology and social media, or the ability to learn quickly.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; reliable and proactive.

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Commitment to progressive values and the Democratic Party.

  • Demonstrated success in achieving goals
