About the Campaign

Senator Scott Wiener is a leading voice for progress in California and a proven champion for our values. Scott has delivered real results on issues like housing, transportation, climate change, LGBTQ+ equality, and criminal justice reform. Now, he's running for Congress to bring his effective, progressive leadership to Washington, D.C. His campaign is building a diverse, passionate, and dedicated team to engage voters across the city and secure victory in 2026.

Position Summary

The Volunteer Coordinator owns the volunteer experience end to end — making sure every volunteer has a high-touch, high-value experience each time they engage the campaign. This is a central role in the turnout machine: preparing events, recruiting and confirming volunteers, and running the follow-up that keeps them coming back.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the volunteer experience; ensure every volunteer feels valued and wants to return.

  • Prepare all materials for volunteer events (lit bags, tables, snacks, setup).

  • Invite and confirm volunteers by call, text, and email before every event.

  • Close out all shifts after events (track attendance) and run follow-up with each volunteer.

  • Maintain accurate volunteer records in VAN and Mobilize.

  • Partner with organizers to keep the volunteer pipeline full and active.

  • Responsible for owning a data-driven goal-oriented voter contact and organizing program

Goals & Metrics

  • Every volunteer event fully prepped and stocked.

  • Invite and confirmation outreach completed for every event.

  • Strong volunteer turnout / RSVP-to-show rate.

  • All shifts closed and attendance marked after each event.

  • Follow-up completed with each volunteer.

Qualifications

  • Warm, highly organized, and detail-oriented — you remember names and never drop a thread.

  • Natural community-builder - you bring strong networks to the role and can quickly create genuine relationships that builds leaders, achieves goals, and creates culture

  • Exceptional attention to details, exceptional verbal and written communication

  • Experience in volunteer management, field, events, or community/customer-facing work.

  • Comfortable with high-volume phone, text, and email outreach.

  • Proficiency with VAN (PDI experience ok as a stand-in), Mobilize, and Google Workspace, or the ability to learn quickly.

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Commitment to progressive values and the Democratic Party.
