JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is employed by Families for an Affordable San Francisco (FFASF), the field and organizing program supporting Scott Wiener's 2026 campaign for Congress (CA-11).

About the Campaign

Senator Scott Wiener is a leading voice for progress in California and a proven champion for our values. Scott has delivered real results on issues like housing, transportation, climate change, LGBTQ+ equality, and criminal justice reform. Now, he's running for Congress to bring his effective, progressive leadership to Washington, D.C. His campaign is building a diverse, passionate, and dedicated team to engage voters across the city and secure victory in 2026.

Position Summary

The Organizer builds and runs the field program in an assigned geographic turf: building a network of supporters and volunteers, getting Scott in front of voters, and converting that energy into doors and votes. The role is relationship-first early in the cycle and turnout-focused as Election Day approaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own a geographic turf: build relationships, recruit volunteers, and convert supporters into active, super-volunteers.

  • Early cycle: focus on 1:1s and relationship-building.

  • Schedule and run house parties, 1:1s, and community events that put Scott in front of voters — then build turnout for them.

  • Recruit, train, and lead volunteers on canvasses and phone banks.

  • Near the election (GOTV): shift fully to canvassing and direct voter contact.

  • Carry and hit personal turnout and door-knocking goals, tracked weekly.

Goals & Metrics

  • 8 completed 1:1s per week.

  • 2 house parties scheduled and completed per month.

  • 2 other community events scheduled and completed per month.

  • Volunteers recruited and converted to active/super-volunteers.

  • GOTV phase: canvasses and voter-outreach events built and executed (doors).

  • Responsible for owning a data-driven goal-oriented voter contact and organizing program

Qualifications

  • Experience in organizing or field on electoral campaigns, or comparable community organizing (a strong volunteer background counts).

  • A natural relationship-builder who is self-directed and accountable.

  • Comfortable knocking doors, making the ask, and recruiting others to do the same.

  • Proficiency with VAN (PDI experience ok as a stand-in), Mobilize, and Google Workspace, or the ability to learn quickly.

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Fluency in Cantonese, Spanish, or other languages spoken in the district is a plus.

  • Commitment to progressive values and the Democratic Party.
