JOB DESCRIPTION
Cooke for Congress is seeking Field Organizers to serve as the campaign’s primary point of contact for volunteers and voters within a designated region. Field Organizers will be responsible for executing a grassroots field plan, managing volunteers, and achieving both quantitative and qualitative organizing metrics.
Responsibilities include:
Recruit, train, and manage volunteers
Manage staging locations and volunteer leaders in assigned turf
Plan and execute canvass launches, phone banks, and other campaign events
Direct voter outreach, including canvassing, phone banking, and voter registration in assigned turf
Travel throughout assigned turf to meet voters, attend events, and launch canvasses
Build meaningful relationships with local stakeholders and organizations
Foster inclusive team culture
Attend events as a representative of the campaign, including staffing the candidate and tabling
Other department responsibilities as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
Previous campaign experience preferred but not required
Commitment to learning and understanding relational organizing tactics
Current driver’s license and access to a car
Access to a computer and cell phone
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs
Experience working in Wisconsin politics or ties to Wisconsin preferred
Previous experience with VAN preferred but not required
Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence - the awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant, and productive ways
Have a personal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
A positive, team-oriented attitude
Time management skills are a must
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
Compensation: $3,500 - $4,500/month, negotiable with experience.
