Villegas for Congress is hiring a Deputy Finance Director for the period leading up to the general election on November 3, 2026 in California’s 22nd Congressional District. The ideal applicant has relevant campaign experience, works well in fast-paced environments, and has a proven track record of hitting set goals. ** This is a full-time, salaried, cycle-based exempt position located in Bakersfield, CA.**
Responsibilities will include:

Collaborating with and assisting the Finance Director

Work with hosts and key partners to plan, coordinate and execute fundraisers

Draft fundraising materials in the candidate’s voice such as letters, texts and emails
-
Staff events in-district and occasional travel trips
-
Staff call time sessions and coach the candidate through his pitch and ask

Perform donor research and prepare lists for call time sessions
-
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
-
2+ cycles of finance and/or fundraising experience is strongly preferred
-
Proficiency in NGP, ActBlue, CallTime AI and database management preferred

Strong ability to build relationships and foster a positive team culture

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and solve problems effectively and creatively
