About Wake Dems

The Wake County Democratic Party (WCDP) is a grassroots volunteer-driven organization focused on electing Democrats, organizing voters, and building organizing power in the largest county in one of the most important swing states in the country.

Responsibilities

The Call Time Manager or Finance Director will be the primary staff member responsible for all of the Wake County Democratic Party’s fundraising, including organizing and managing call time, materials design and development, supporting our volunteer-run major recurring donor program, organizing fundraising events, maintaining databases, and running the donor acknowledgement program.

Specific contemplated responsibilities are listed below, but are subject to alteration or change based on experience and need:

  • Organize and execute a brand-new call time program, including prospecting and donor research, scheduling and staffing the Executive Director, the Chair, and other principals, and managing follow-up and pledge chase.

  • Develop and design fundraising materials based on strategic direction from the Chair, Executive Director, and other party leadership, including copywriting, prospectuses, pitch decks, and other materials needed for a successful fundraising program.

  • Support the Impact Circle volunteer leadership team, our major donor recurring contribution program, including through event logistical support, prospecting, pledge chase and reactivation, and recruiting new volunteer leaders.

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive tiered donor and volunteer acknowledgement process.

  • Manage reporting out to funders and partners, including periodic metrics reports and regular program overviews.

  • Plan and organize a robust schedule of fundraising events, ranging from small-dollar house parties to national travel, including by developing and supporting hosts and prospecting party connections for national and virtual events.

  • Assist the Executive Director and Treasurer in executing compliance, budgeting, and cash flow tracking tasks.

  • Participate in professional development activities, including cross-department work and external training.

  • Independently conceive and develop additions to the fundraising program.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should have many or most of the following:

  • For a Call Time Manager: 0-2 cycles of campaign experience, with a demonstrated interest in Democratic electoral work.

  • For a Finance Director: 2+ cycles of campaign experience, with at least one cycle in a full-time fundraising role.

  • A very high degree of conscientiousness.

  • Experience managing up and willingness to push and disagree with superiors when necessary.

  • Excellent writing skills.

  • Experience using common campaign and fundraising CRM tools including NGP and Votebuilder and call time tools like Numero.

  • Willingness to relocate to Wake County, North Carolina.

Compensation

The anticipated monthly salary range for a Call Time Manager is $4,500 - $5,000; the anticipated monthly salary range for a Finance Director is $5,500 - $6,000. Employee benefits include 15 days of paid vacation, 15 paid holidays, 15 days of paid personal leave, and a monthly employer health insurance contribution of up to $425. This position is termed through November 2026, with the potential for conversion to a permanent role based on specific fundraising outcomes and other job performance metrics.
