JOB DESCRIPTION

The Rebecca Bennett for Congress campaign is seeking a Candidate Staffer / Finance Assistant to join our campaign to work on the competitive congressional race in NJ-07 for the 2026 cycle. This individual will serve as the principal aide to Rebecca Bennett, providing direct day-to-day logistical, personal, and strategic support throughout the duration of the general election campaign. This role requires sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to manage fast-paced and evolving demands while maintaining the candidate’s movements, preparedness, and well-being.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with the finance team to execute the finance plan and strategy.

  • Use ActBlue, NGP, and other fundraising management platforms to maintain detailed records and ensure data integrity.

  • Assist with tracking donor outreach and managing a donor acknowledgement process (thank‑you calls, emails, notes).

  • Serve as the primary on-the-road liaison for the candidate, ensuring timely, seamless execution of daily schedules across a wide range of campaign events, meetings, and public appearances.

  • Coordinate directly with the scheduling, advance, press, and operations teams to ensure all logistical elements are aligned in real time, including travel transitions, briefing materials, and event protocols.

  • Maintain and manage a daily candidate packet that includes briefing memos, run-of-show documents, event contacts, talking points, and any relevant logistical or political context.

  • Capture on the ground images and footage of the candidate.

  • Support the candidate’s personal and professional needs throughout the day, including wardrobe changes, meals, hydration, note-taking, and transitions between engagements.

  • Monitor and proactively address candidate wellness, readiness, and morale to ensure performance sustainability over long campaign days.

  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of the candidate’s movements and schedule at all times.

  • Provide real-time input to campaign leadership on candidate engagement, morale, and message resonance.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, solve problems in real time, and maintain a calm and professional demeanor.

  • Experience in a political campaign, federal office, or similarly fast-paced political or governmental environment, with direct experience supporting a principal or high-profile individual preferred.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.

  • High emotional intelligence and discretion; ability to anticipate needs before they arise.

  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout New Jersey and work long, irregular hours including evenings and weekends.

  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is required.

  • Familiarity with the political landscape of New Jersey is preferred.
