Lead Writer for WiseCourage Movement Organizing Platform: To Topple Fascist Regimes & Stop & Reverse the Ecocide

Who we are

GetCourageNow is building WiseCourage, a next-generation movement organizing and mobilizing platform made up of two progressive web apps plus a third tool that's already proven _able to catalyze moral courage at scale _enabling nonviolent resistance recruit- ment numbers to be exponentially increased, critical to enabling defacto general strikes. Together, we know all three tools are historically essential to be able to topple fascist regimes and to stop and reverse the ecocide.

These tools are obviously urgent given the looming danger of a Reichstag scenario. The best available strategy for ending fascist regimes depends on organizing and mobilizing for massive nonviolent resistance, such as defacto general strikes–what current tools don't support — and the same is true for preventing the worst climate collapse scenarios, now horrifically accelerating under the Trump regime. As far as we know, no other activist technologists are building tools like these. The Duties:

1. ** To rewrite all the directions and advice given to the users–aspiring organizers, small and larger matching donorfs, and people who might be willing to donate housing– throughout the apps in ways that will not only be idiot proof, down to earth, and warm, but able to build trust, add humor at times, and help create a sense of or at least potential of community.**

2. ** To attend to User Experience testing of small groups to get a first hand experience of users’ reactions and experiences (usually every other week for about 90min)**

3. ** To work closely with the founder by zoom or if in Philly, at least once a week in person**

4. More to be mutually agreed upon

Who You Are

• Skilled writer able to make our app's text something to talk about--innovative, creative, fun, at times evoking a laugh or two, but also able to build hope and trust

• Motivated to help end fascism, imperialism, racism, extreme wealth inequality, and ecological destruction. You hopefully have some awareness of social change history (ie know American social change history)

• Willing to work initially as a volunteer a short time or at least well below market rate, for an initial three-four-month period, in service of that mission.

• Based in the U.S. preferred; open to candidates elsewhere (eg Canada, UK, MX, Ukraine, Palestine)

Big Pluses— a connection to even ONE of the following (long shot we know):

• A Los Angeles/Hollywood-based activist producer, aspiring producer, director, or actor who could help launch ACTtoProtect (our related project, which could bring in mid-six-figures to fund, promote, and distribute the platform and $300M for most other fascism and ecocide ending campaigns in the US)

• A talented social media director with reach to influencers

• A potential co-Executive Director with connections to leadership at election-protection organizations

• One or more progressive, wealthy donors

Compensation is negotiable.

**Current Budget and possible near term future funding: **

Our founder Exec Director has raised about $37,000, of which $6k has been spent so far on the programmers and $3k on the designer. The founder himself works for free.

• $22,000 left in budget for engineering with two donor-pledged bonuses of $10,000 each ($20,000 total), which will be awared once we reach our first 50 success stories on AdoptAnOrganizer, or land a major union as a MAMA user

• $5,000 for our UI/UX designer, who will also handle frontend coding

• $5,000–$7,000 for social media and partner-finding supportOur founder has raised nearly $2M for past progressive startups (with national awards and coverage in the NYT, Washington Post, LA Times, and SF Chronicle, among others) and is confident of raising at least $300,000 once we have a tested MVP and a first major partner organization on board — funding that would support this role going forward.
