Dan Osborn for U.S. Senate is hiring a Political Associate to build and mobilize relationships with elected officials, community leaders, and stakeholder organizations across Nebraska in one of the most closely watched Senate races in the country. This role supports the campaign's statewide political engagement strategy, working closely with the Political Director to strengthen coalitions and drive grassroots activation. The ideal candidate is relationship-oriented, highly organized, and eager to learn the mechanics of campaign politics and coalition building. This position reports to the Campaign Manager.
Responsibilities will include:
● Supporting the Political Director in implementing the campaign's statewide political engagement strategy
● Identifying, researching, and engaging elected officials, community leaders, labor and agricultural organizations, and coalition partners to strengthen the campaign's network across Nebraska
● Tracking endorsements and key relationships in coordination with the political and field teams
● Communicating key updates, resources, and engagement opportunities to partners and supporters
● Supporting the planning and execution of political and community events, including roundtables, meet-and-greets, and local gatherings
● Briefing and coordinating surrogates and staff who represent the campaign at political or community events
● Assisting in staffing and organizing phone banks, text banks, and other grassroots outreach efforts
● Attending and staffing campaign events statewide, ensuring smooth logistics and timely follow-up
● Overseeing and delegating VAN access and training as needed
● Collaborating with the communications, digital, and field teams to align messaging and outreach
● Partnering with the organizing team to integrate political outreach into volunteer recruitment and voter contact efforts
● Ensuring accurate, timely sharing of political engagement updates across campaign departments
Qualifications:
● Experience in campaigns, government, advocacy, or community organizing preferred but not required.
● Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
● Strong organizational and research skills with attention to detail.
● Proficiency with Google Suite; familiarity with NGP/VAN a plus.
● Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and availability for extensive in-state travel.
● Passion for grassroots politics and public service
● Comfortable working long, irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
This is a full-time, in-person position based in Nebraska, requiring extensive in-state travel, that will end when the campaign concludes in November 2026. You will collaborate with colleagues based across Nebraska. Campaign hours are expected of any successful candidate.
This is a salaried position compensated between $4,000 and $5,500 per month, based on experience. Moving expenses will be reimbursed for candidates from outside of Nebraska.
