The Cornerstone Project is a dynamic and rapidly growing nonprofit organization focused
on increasing youth civic participation and cultivating new talent. We are seeking
hardworking and ambitious candidates to join our youth voter registration and leadership
development efforts at Texas colleges and universities. This role is ideal for candidates
who are excited to grow with the organization and help build up the next generation of
Texas leaders.
The Role:
The Campus Organizer will work closely with the Regional Organizing Director to
oversee and execute the organization’s grassroots organizing and voter registration
strategies on their specific campus. This role involves managing organizing staff,
coordinating outreach efforts, developing voter registration strategies, and ensuring the
successful implementation of voter registration programs on a specific campus.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Organizing Strategies:
○ Lead Voter Registration at target campuses.
○ Contribute to the creation of outreach strategies and training materials.
2. Team Management:
○ Supervise and mentor Cornerstone Fellows, providing guidance and
support to ensure effective performance.
○ Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and professional
development sessions.
3. Data Management:
○ Manage the delivery and collection of data.
○ Assist the Quality Control team with Data Entry, as needed.
4. Problem-Solving and Crisis Management:
○ Address and resolve issues that arise within the organizing team or during
voter registration activities.
○ Provide solutions to unforeseen challenges and ensure continuity of voter
registration efforts.
5. Reporting and Communication:
○ Report progress and outcomes of voter registration activities to the
Regional Organizing Director and other senior staff.
○ Communicate effectively with team members and fellows
Qualifications:
● Proven experience in managing and leading teams.
● Strong understanding of organizing principles, voter registration strategies, and
community engagement.
● Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of
flexibility.
Additional Information:
● The position will require regular evening and weekend work. From June through
July you will be expected to work 45 - 50 hours per week. From August through
the Voter Registration deadline in October, you will be expected to work up to 55
hours per week.
● Applicants must have consistent access to reliable transportation, a computer,
and a phone in order to perform the essential functions of the role.
● Regular travel around your region will be required.
● This position will require daily work outdoors and regular walking around college
campuses.
Compensation:
This position pays $5,500 per month. Your compensation package also includes 100%
medical, dental, and vision coverage.
