Abdul for Senate is seeking talented candidates to work as a Latino Outreach Director for the 2026 election cycle. We are looking for passionate, hardworking individuals who are committed to our mission of electing Abdul El-Sayed our next U.S. Senator.
Role Overview:
The Latino Outreach Director is responsible for executing a comprehensive strategy to engage, mobilize, and turn out Latino voters across the state. This role builds and manages relationships with Latino community leaders, faith institutions, civic organizations, and grassroots networks. The Latino Outreach Director should have deep familiarity with Latino community institutions and media, experience building coalitions, and a creative approach to voter engagement that reflects the diversity within Latino communities across the state (denominational, generational, and geographic). This is a full-time position based in Detroit, although travel across the state is required. This position offers compensation in the form of a monthly salary and healthcare benefits.
Responsibilities:

Lead a statewide Latino voter outreach and mobilization strategy

Build and maintain relationships with mosques, churches, community organizations, business associations, and civic leaders

Develop culturally relevant messaging and materials in coordination with the communications and digital teams

Represent the campaign at community events, forums, and coalition meetings

Coordinate with the field department to integrate Latino outreach into the broader voter contact program

Track outreach metrics and report progress to campaign leadership

Other campaign needs as required
Qualifications (Required):

A minimum of 3 political cycles of volunteer or paid work experience in campaigns, community organizing, or advocacy required

Established relationships with Latino community leaders, organizations, and institutions in Michigan

Recruit, train, and manage a team of regional volunteers focused on Latino voter contact

Must have transportation to attend events statewide as needed

Proficiency with Excel and Google Drive

Willingness to work irregular hours including some nights and weekends

Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to speak credibly to diverse audiences within the Latino community

Ability to learn new skills and take on new challenges, with a desire to learn and a willingness to ask questions

Deep understanding of the political, cultural, and historical context shaping Latino voter engagement in Michigan

Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detail

Commitment to electing Abdul El-Sayed to the U.S. Senate

Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence – the awareness, knowledge and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant and productive ways

Personal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability
Qualifications (Preferred):

Experience using VAN and MyCampaigns, Solidarity, or other volunteer management software

Existing relationships or contacts with local community leaders and organizations outside of traditional progressive Democratic circles

Experience directly managing/staffing a principal is a significant plus

Previous experience working in Michigan is a significant plus
