Background
DSA is positioned for significant growth through 2028, driven by the current administration's ongoing attacks on democratic norms, the Democratic Party's continued struggles to counter them, and the possibility of a DSA-endorsed presidential run in 2028. In step with this, DSA Metro Cincinnati is expanding into more resource-intensive organizing work, including electoral campaigns, expanded mutual aid efforts, and sustained strike support, while also working toward securing a dedicated chapter office space.
To help build the fundraising capacity this growth requires, the chapter is contracting a part-time Fundraising Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities

Develop strategic fundraising plan for the chapter
-
Conduct donor calls and pledge chasing to secure and follow up on member and donor contributions
-
Plan, write, and execute small-dollar digital fundraising campaigns (email, text, and social appeals)
-
Coordinate logistics for fundraising events, receptions, virtual events, and campaign activities.
-
Write copy for landing pages, emails, ads, etc.

Maintain the chapter's donor database and CRM, keeping contribution records and donor communications accurate and up to date
Compensation

Oversight & Reporting
-
Work is overseen by the DSA Cincy Steering Committee to ensure alignment with the principles of Democratic Socialism and the chapter's organizing priorities
-
The Coordinator will work closely with the chapter Treasurer and Co-Chairs to ensure all fundraising activity complies with applicable nonprofit and campaign finance law at the local, state, and federal levels
-
The Coordinator will submit a written report to the Steering Committee biweekly
Eligibility & Restrictions

The Coordinator may not hold any chapter leadership position, elected or appointed, during the contract term
-
Consistent with applicable law, DSA membership is not required as a condition of taking this role
Qualifications
