JOB DESCRIPTION

About the Race

Rick Crosson for Congress is the campaign to elect Rick Crosson to represent Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District. Rick is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and Master Army Aviator with twenty years of service. WI-08 covers ten counties across Northeast Wisconsin, including Green Bay, Appleton, and the Fox Valley. The district is widely considered to be solidly red. In 2024, it went 57 to 43, a seven-point shift with no party investment. We believe the remaining distance is reachable with the right organization on the ground. We are a lean, scrappy team and believe this district can flip, especially this year, if we put the work in. If you like the underdog races, this one is for you.

What Will You Do?

Rick Crosson's campaign is seeking an Events Coordinator to be responsible for building and executing the campaign's public event program, with a primary focus on a town hall series across all ten counties of the district. This position handles venue sourcing and booking, host and moderator coordination, invitation and RSVP management, event promotion, and day-of logistics. Direct public access to the candidate is central to how this campaign is run. This position exists to make that access happen consistently and reliably. Most planning work is performed remotely. Event execution is in person and occurs primarily on evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities include:

  • Source, evaluate, and book event venues throughout the district, including confirming capacity, accessibility, audiovisual capability, parking, and total cost in writing before an event is considered booked.

  • Secure permits, certificates of insurance, and any other documentation required by a venue or municipality.

  • Build and manage relationships with local hosts, community organizations, and partner groups willing to convene or sponsor events.

  • Identify, recruit, and confirm event moderators.

  • Coordinate invitations to partner candidates and elected officials, and track their confirmations.

  • Build events in Mobilize, Action Network, and the campaign's internal event tracker so that events are publicly discoverable and RSVPs are captured.

  • Request event graphics and invitations on a timeline that allows for review and approval, and distribute promotional materials with sufficient lead time.

  • Manage RSVPs and produce accurate attendance projections.

  • Prepare run-of-show documents and day-of briefing packets including timing, directions, room configuration, attendee context, and event-specific background.

  • Help to execute day-of logistics including setup, sign-in, materials, and teardown

  • Maintain event records, vendor contacts, and receipts for campaign compliance purposes.

Who Are You?

As a successful candidate for the job, you will:

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage many concurrent details across multiple events.

  • Persistent follow-up. A substantial portion of this work consists of second and third contacts with people who did not respond initially.

  • Strong attention to detail, including identifying discrepancies between what a venue states and what a venue provides.

  • Ability to remain composed and solve problems quickly when plans change on short notice.

  • Professional written and verbal communication. This position represents the campaign to venues, hosts, community partners, and other campaigns' staff.

  • Willingness and ability to work collaboratively with candidates' campaigns running in other races throughout WI-08

  • Have a passion for progressive politics and the power of political organizing

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

  • Comfortable with using technology including SMS, social media platforms, and voter database

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in event planning, event coordination, hospitality, catering, venue management, office management, or executive support.

  • Familiarity with Mobilize, Action Network, or comparable event registration platforms.

  • Familiarity with community venues, libraries, veterans halls, and community centers across Northeast Wisconsin.

  • Prior campaign experience is helpful but is not required.

Job Details

The salary for this position is between $3200-4000 per month commensurate with experience. This is a W2 employee position paid semi-monthly. Mileage and cell phone use are reimbursed.
