The Online to Offline Strategy Group (O2O) is seeking up to two Digital Ads Strategist contractors to develop ad campaigns (primarily on Meta) to support our clients’ organizing work on a range of issues, including workers’ rights, public education, the care economy, corporate accountability, immigration, healthcare, and more. For O2O, digital ads are not just about reaching an organization’s core audience, but about building power by helping organizers engage and move those people to higher levels of action and leadership. In this role, you will determine ad strategy, write effective copy, and work with the O2O creative team to produce images and videos that get results.
Applicants should have experience and demonstrated commitment to working on social justice causes; however, we also welcome applications from individuals with experience outside the nonprofit and union organizing sectors who want to do meaningful work with their skills.
Primary Duties:
-
Formulate data-driven digital ad campaigns to test messaging, generate leads for organizers, and move audiences to action.
-
Work with the organizing team to set up the systems needed for rapid followup with leads and maintain feedback loops to inform both ads and outreach strategy.
-
Analyze performance data and create visualizations and reports to help organizers understand and improve their campaign impact, including pivot tables, crosstabs, charts, maps, slide decks, etc.
-
Provide O2O clients with regular updates of what’s working, areas for improvement, new opportunities, and evolving industry best practices.
-
Work with the Ads, Data and Content (ADC) team to improve our digital ads training curriculum for clients’ staff and members as needed.
Role-Specific Competencies
-
At least 1 year experience running ads on Meta (Ads Manager) with a track record of producing quality results from a target audience and managing an ads budget. (Experience with additional ads platforms is a plus.)
-
Skilled with using platform analytics, A/B testing, and outreach data to understand and optimize ad performance.
-
Strong research and data skills to improve audience targeting.
-
Strong writing skills in English. (Proficiency in Spanish or another language is a plus.)
-
Admin level proficiency with common movement data and CRM tools, including but not limited to EveryAction/VAN, Action Network/Builder, Zapier, Solidarity Tech, etc.
Overall Competencies
-
Strong understanding of digital tools and their application to organizing.
-
Skilled in project management and balancing the need for high quality work with expediency to meet campaign timelines.
-
Self-motivated, highly accountable to team members and clients, and comfortable and effective working in a remote environment.
-
Proficient with digital tools for team coordination (Zoom, Slack, Google Apps, etc).
-
Demonstrated commitment to social justice and can compellingly articulate issues facing BIPOC communities, low-income families, and LGBT+.
-
At least 2 years of experience working in progressive political campaigns, non-profits, or unions, either in a professional or high-level volunteer role.
Contract Term & Hours
The contract term for this work is 6 months with eligibility to extend based on performance and business need. We are looking for individuals who can commit to at least 8 hours per week and additional hours will become available as O2O onboards new clients this fall. We anticipate the need for this work ramping up to 20-30 hours per week by the end of 2026. Please email Greg [at] o2ostrategy.org if you have questions.
In 2027, O2O will look to bring on additional talented, driven individuals full-time, as available work and budget allow. If you are interested in the prospect of future full-time work with O2O, please let us know in your application.
How to Apply
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with a priority consideration given to those who apply before September 14th. The anticipated start date will be between late September and early October.
Please complete the application form here. You will be prompted to upload or link to a resume and examples of ad campaigns you have run, and (in lieu of a cover letter) answer some questions to help us understand your experience.
