Walkout campaign
Young people are furious about an AI future being forced on us. Nearly half of 18-to-29-year-olds say AI does more harm than good. What's missing is coordinated action that forces the government to respond. So the week of October 20, Students on 100+ college campuses will walk out of class with one demand: pause AI and bring it under public control. Two weeks later, we will go vote.
Distributed organizer role
Irreplaceable is seeking distributed organizers to recruit and coach the students who lead walkouts on their own campuses. You'll be responsible for a dozen 'flagship' campus groups, recruiting the leaders and supporting them through the walkout. You'll also coach 'distributed actions,' the campuses that sign up with us on their own, asking for support. You'll work alongside a cohort of distributed organizers, a political-partnerships team, and a digital creator program.
Key responsibilities
• Recruit leaders from your network, your research, and partnerships with campus organizations.
• Run high-volume outreach and intro calls that pitch students to lead local walkouts.
• Meet leaders regularly to set goals, create tactics, and plan campaign escalations.
• Troubleshoot: flaky teammates, admin pushback, low RSVPs, and more.
• Help campus leaders see themselves as part of a national movement.
You’re a good fit if…
• You have strong networks and contacts in universities.
• You're motivated to reach out to hundreds of potential leaders.
• You can build trust even over text and Zoom.
• You have past organising experience.
• You’re very concerned by AI corporations’ power over our future.
