Overview
The National Urban League (NUL) in partnership with Anti-Defamation League Center on Extremism (ADL)seeks a part-time Threat Intelligence Analyst The analyst conducts research on extremist activities, produces reports and briefings, communicates urgent findings to relevant teams, and recommends response strategies while collaborating closely with the experts and researchers at ADL. The focus will be on analyzing hate fueled violence that targets the Black community in addition to assessing potential threats for the Black community in the 2026 Midterm election.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of extremist movements and related activities using primary and secondary public sources targeting the Black community.
- Draft internal reports and analyses on relevant developments, trends, and activities on a regular basis. A quarterly report summarizing these findings will be produced for our President & CEO.
- Communicate urgent findings and provide briefings on research to teams at National Urban Leage and Anti-Defamation League, serving as a liaison between these groups.
- Recommend strategies for responding to extremist activities and developments.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required; master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience:
- Proven track record of deep investigative research and analysis, with prior experience with open-source intelligence techniques and corporate research a big plus.
- Expertise and interest in specific extremist-related subject area
Knowledge & Skills:
- Excellent analytical and research skills; strong familiarity with open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and act flexibly in response to changing priorities.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative settings and with all levels of staff.
- Excellent critical thinking skills.
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment under pressure.
- Familiarity with a range of data and technological tools.
- The position is hybrid.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to fifteen pounds at times.
