The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is seeking an Organizing Platform Strategist to support our newly relaunched National Distributed Organizing Program. This pivotal role is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining digital organizing channels that facilitate grassroots mobilization, volunteer engagement, and integrated voter contact (IVC) efforts ahead of critical elections in 2025 and 2026. This role is essential in building and sustaining digital infrastructure that empowers volunteers and volunteer leaders nationwide. As the Organizing Platform Strategist, you will focus on digital community management, developing national in-platform social communities for content & messaging coordination, and maintaining organizing web properties, including strategic calls-to-action (CTAs) and organizing content.
The ideal candidate possesses strong digital organizing and technical platform management skills, is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in dynamic and rapidly evolving environments. You should have a passion for digital engagement strategies, community building, and leveraging technology to enhance grassroots organizing effectiveness.
The Organizing Platform Strategist reports directly to the Distributed Organizing Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead digital community management efforts, primarily on Discord, ensuring active engagement and community growth.
  • Develop and manage national in-platform social communities, supporting coordinated content distribution and strategic organizing opportunities.
  • Oversee maintenance and regular updates of organizing web hubs, digital properties, and related CTAs to ensure seamless volunteer and supporter engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with Regional Distributed Organizers, Training Managers, and the Mobilization team to integrate digital strategies and streamline volunteer experiences across platforms.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on digital engagement metrics, using insights to refine strategies, improve platform effectiveness, and grow volunteer retention.
  • Support cross-departmental coordination, including alignment with Mobilization Email & SMS teams to integrate subscriber engagement calendars for organizing purposes.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Distributed Organizing Director.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 cycles of experience in digital organizing, platform management, or equivalent roles in political or advocacy campaigns.
  • Proven experience managing digital communities, preferably with platforms like Discord, ActionKit, or similar digital organizing tools.
  • Technical proficiency with digital platforms, including but not limited to Discord, ActionKit, Scale to Win, Slack, Google Workspace, and related software.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to interpret engagement data and effectively translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information and strategic guidance to diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to Democratic values, equity, inclusion, and a passion for innovative, community-centered digital organizing.
The starting salary for the Organizing Platform Strategist position is $65,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications
This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends. This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.
