The Training Manager (Organizing/Campaigns) will focus specifically on developing material, and execute programming in the organizing and campaign space in partnership with the DNC Organizing Team. This individual has a background and passion for organizing and training volunteers.
The Training Manager (Organizing/Campaigns) is based in Washington, DC and reports to the National Training Director (until the Deputy National Training Director is hired and onboarded).
In this position you will
- Assist in training organizers and volunteers on a variety of campaign tools and strategy.
- Assists in the implementation of regional and state-based trainings.
- Assists in the growth and expansion of existing DNC training programs and other large scale national training programs.
- Assist in managing logistical elements of training events specific to organizing and campaigns and programs (both virtual and in-person).
- Responsible for helping to maintain training databases.
- Assisting in all other tasks as designated by the National Training Director, Deputy National Training Director, and in some cases the Organizing Director.
What we will look for
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- A background in organizing. Staff and volunteer management experience is a plus.
- 2+ of state party, campaign, or political committee experience.
- Must have familiarity with a variety of campaign components including organizing/mobilization, digital media, fundraising, communications, political, data, etc.
- Must be capable of managing multiple deadlines and responsibilities.
- Must have strong attention to detail, be responsive, and timely.
- Must be organized and able to multitask.
- Must have familiarity with Google Suite, NGP, VAN, Zoom, and social networking tools.
- Must possess excellent oral/written communication skills, and public speaking skills.
- Must have a strong work ethic and be a team player.
What we would be excited to see
- A working knowledge of the structure of state parties and political campaigns.
- A background in operations, including logistics coordination, virtual/in-person event planning, and implementation
- Experience training staff and/or volunteers on a state or national level.
- Design and UX/UI skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends and some travel during some parts of the year. The starting salary for the position is $68,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Training Manager position will require travel, which could be up to 1-15% of the time.
