Field Organizer
The Vanessa Atterbeary for Howard County Executive campaign is seeking an enthusiastic,
experienced, and dynamic leader to serve as a field organizer. The field organizer will work with the
organizing director to execute voter outreach and supporter mobilization. This person will work with
leaders around Howard County and help ensure a robust field plan is executed. The applicant must
be detail-oriented, have strong organizational skills, be able to manage multiple projects
simultaneously, and have a good sense of humor!
Responsibilities
● Meet or exceed metrics-based goals for volunteer recruitment & retention
● Meet or exceed metrics for direct voter contact
● Coordinate and manage door knocks and phone banking sessions
● Engage with supporters to ensure they have resources to spread Vanessa’s message throughout
their networks
● Represent Vanessa and the campaign at events throughout the county
● Ensure data is properly collected and entered into the campaign database.
● Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
● Strong interpersonal skills
● Ability to maintain confidential information
● Reliable transportation for county travel
● Access to a laptop and smartphone
● Ability to work long or irregular hours
● Strong and effective organizational skills
● Experience using Votebuilder (VAN)
● Attention to detail
This position is based in Howard County, Maryland, and target start date is flexible, but the ideal
