Jud Ashman for Montgomery County Council – District 3, Montgomery County, Maryland
The Jud Ashman for Montgomery County Council District 3 Campaign is seeking a motivated, organized, and hard-working Field Director to lead the campaign’s voter outreach and grassroots organizing efforts. The Field Director will be responsible for designing and executing the campaign’s field program, including volunteer organizing, voter contact operations, and community outreach events.
Responsibilities:
The Field Director will oversee the campaign’s direct voter contact and organizing program, including:
- Design, implement, and manage the campaign’s comprehensive field strategy.
- Develop and execute a door-to-door canvassing program, including turf cutting, universe creation, and volunteer deployment using NGP VAN/VoteBuilder.
- Design and manage phone banking programs and develop voter contact scripts.
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to participate in canvases, phone banks, and campaign events.
- Organize and execute campaign meet-and-greet events, house parties, and other grassroots outreach activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, supporters, and volunteers across District 3.
- Track and manage campaign field data, including voter contact metrics and volunteer engagement.
- Maintain and manage the campaign’s organizing calendar and volunteer engagement schedule.
- Represent the campaign at community events, parades, and local gatherings as needed.
- Assist with campaign staffing and hiring processes as needed.
- Support additional campaign operations and political outreach as assigned by the campaign.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong organizational skills and a passion for grassroots organizing. Preferred qualifications include:
- At least one cycle of campaign or political organizing experience, ideally in a field or organizing role.
- Experience organizing volunteers and coordinating voter outreach programs. Familiarity with NGP VAN/VoteBuilder, including turf cutting and list management.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced campaign environment. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license is preferred.
