Location: Hybrid role based in Talbot or Dorchester County, Maryland

About the Campaign: Katie Clendaniel is an Eastern Shore native focused on issues affecting
her region including economic and community development, rural healthcare, environmental
resiliency, and investing in critical local infrastructure projects. Katie seeks to balance preserving
their Eastern Shore quality of life with strategic economic growth. In the first democratic primary
race in this district since the mid-1990s, Katie won with a 72% majority vote and won each
county in the district. She is looking for a qualified manager to help manage a robust general
election campaign for a large geographical district. More information about the candidate can be

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced manager to help launch and lead our campaign
to victory in the November General Election. Ideal candidates should have well-developed
communication skills and experience creating targeted field plans.

Responsibilities:
● Work in conjunction with candidate to develop and execute overall campaign strategy &
detailed budget with a clear timeline and benchmark goals from general election
re-launch to election day
● Handle day-to-day campaign operations, vendor contracts, administrative tasks, and
calendar management
● Coordinate with treasurer to ensure campaign finance reports are filed accurately and
timely with MDCRIS
● Manage field program, including volunteer recruitment, canvassing, phone banking,
texting, and events.
● Collaborate with candidate to create digital and print content, including print ads, palm
cards, mailers, long and short form video, social media graphics, and other digital
advertising assets
● Keep detailed track of all endorsement deadlines and assist candidate in drafting
responses to questionnaires
● Form relationships with key community members and stakeholders to assist in coalition
building
● Support candidate fundraising through donor research, call time, fundraisers, and email
newsletters

Qualifications:

● 1-2+ cycles of experience working on political campaigns (state legislative or
comparable race)
● Strong field and communications skills and advanced familiarity with NGP VAN
● Experience with website builders like Squarespace and designing & copyediting web
material
● Experience with Canva and video editing applications like CapCut
● Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends
● Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle
● Ties to Maryland, knowledge of rural areas, and experience with digital campaign
platforms like Scale to Win are pluses!
