Red Horse Strategies, a leading progressive political consulting firm, is seeking a junior-level Digital Associate to join our rapidly growing digital department. The digital associate will assist in the development and implementation of innovative email programs, social media programs, and paid digital programs for progressive political candidates and offices, non-profit organizations and advocacy groups.
This is a junior-level position – we are not expecting candidates to have robust digital experience or skills. Instead we are looking for candidates with strong written communication skills, a demonstrated interest in government and politics, strong attention to detail in all aspects of work, and a desire to learn and master digital as it relates to campaigns and mission-driven work. The ability to write well and distill complex policies and ideas into concise social media and email content is a requirement. Must be willing to work nights and weekends, as needed. Creativity and a sense of humor are a plus.
The Role:
- Help develop and implement client digital strategies that include social media, email, and paid digital components
- Draft social media content for multiple platforms, as well as email blasts and ads
- Aid in the posting and sending of approved content
- Constantly seek creative opportunities for engagement across platforms
- Provide regular qualitative and quantitative reports on performance
- Assist in other projects as needed
Requirements
Skills and Experience:
- Clear, concise, and engaging writing style
- Comfort with social media platforms, especially Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
- Experience with Sprout Social, Mailchimp, Nationbuilder, ActBlue, Action Network, SquareSpace, NGP, and/or ActionKit a plus
- Ability to execute quality work under tight deadlines with little oversight
- Strong project-management and time-management skills
- While this is a junior-level position, experience working in government offices or on political campaigns is a plus.
This position has a very generous benefits package, including flexible/remote work location options, health care, 401(k), and flexible vacation and personal time. The salary range for this role is $50,000 - $65,000, annual salary.
