Rep. Khanna has built one of the strongest organic digital programs, with 500M+ views, and is a top-3 political figure on TikTok nationally. This role will lead digital communications across initiatives ranging from the release of the Epstein files to speaking out against overseas wars to revitalizing areas of the country left behind to fighting for the working class.

You will own and execute our digital program across all platforms, including setting strategy, drafting content, managing vendors, building a team, and serving as the lead strategist for the Congressman. This is a senior role and a department head. You would report to the Chief Strategist and directly to the Chief Strategist would be senior to you.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute digital strategy.
  • Manage and grow the Congressman’s digital team.
  • Draft and edit social content, video scripts, and rapid-response messaging for a small team; over time, build and oversee a team to scale output and execution.
  • Spot trends as they emerge and move quickly to capitalize on them.
  • Use data analytics (engagement and insights) daily to measure performance and refine strategy in real time.
  • Develop digital plans for assigned initiatives, including goals, target audiences, and engagement tactics.
  • Develop and oversee a growth strategy for the social media organizing program, building strong relationships with creators and grassroots accounts, and meeting agreed-upon metrics.
  • Meet and build deep relationships with influencers and creators beyond the traditional Beltway, including those you might disagree with.
  • Manage video production and help launch our brand new online merch store.
  • Final approval on content before it goes to the Congressman.
  • Flag sensitivities and political landmines proactively.
  • Participate in comms calls and coordinate with fundraising on integrated moments.
  • Oversee the email and text program alongside the Chief Strategist and the Email & SMS Director.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in digital with senior-level program experience
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Experience managing people and building teams from scratch
  • Experience managing vendors and external partners
  • Deep fluency in the online progressive ecosystem
  • Excellent judgment and discretion
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in both social media management and grassroots fundraising.
