Description

About the Role

SWAY is seeking a Digital Media Strategist & Planner to help drive smart, impactful digital advertising campaigns for Democratic candidates and progressive causes nationwide. This is a mid-level role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and creative. You’ll translate campaign goals into sharp, data-informed media plans, and ensure our ads, placement, and dollars deliver maximum impact. You’ll work closely with our partners and production teams—as well as directly with clients—to guide digital strategy from concept through reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute integrated digital media plans across social, search, programmatic, video, and CTV platforms both internally and as primary contact for sub-vendors and platforms
  • Translate campaign and client objectives into thoughtful audience targeting, creative strategy, and platform selection
  • Serve as a day-to-day strategist and planner for multiple clients, advising on media mix, messaging, and budget allocation
  • Collaborate with creative and production teams to develop compelling ad concepts, copy, and deliverables
  • Oversee campaign setup, trafficking, pacing, and optimization to meet key performance and delivery goals
  • Analyze data and prepare actionable insights and reporting for clients and internal teams
  • Stay ahead of trends in political and digital advertising, audience targeting, and emerging technologies
  • Contribute to business development efforts through proposal writing and participation in client pitches

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: $60,000–$80,000, depending on experience
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Health care, paid parental leave, paid time off, and cell phone reimbursement

About SWAY

SWAY is a strategic communications and multimedia production company that produces top-quality content for TV, radio, and digital. We deliver break-out strategy and creative that help win campaigns, build support for causes, and strengthen progressive organizations’ brands.

We’re a smaller, hands-on firm that limits the number of clients we take on so we can provide real partnership and craft standout, effective ads. Our clients include Democratic officeholders from the U.S. Senate to local races, and organizations like the DCCC, Jewish Democratic Council of America, NEA, VoteVets and Planned Parenthood.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

SWAY works for diverse candidates and organizations — and is equally committed to building an internal culture that reflects those values. Applicants of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in digital media strategy, planning, or buying — ideally in a political, advocacy, or agency environment
  • Hands-on experience executing campaigns across major ad platforms (Meta, Google, YouTube, etc.)
  • Experience with voter-file targeting through programmatic DSPs (e.g., DSPolitical, Basis, StackAdapt, TargetSmart)
  • Strong understanding of digital audience targeting, reach and frequency, creative testing, and performance analytics
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Deep commitment to Democratic and progressive values, and enthusiasm for helping campaigns and causes win
  • Dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion in both client work and team culture

Bonus Skills

  • Familiarity with email programs, digital fundraising, and CRM tools
  • Campaign cycle experience or agency background in paid media
