The Michigan Democratic Party is seeking Voter Access Fellows for the 2026 Coordinated

Campaign’s Voter Access Program. The Voter Access Program works to ensure that every eligible Michigander is able to cast a ballot that will count and that all legally cast ballots are counted accurately. The Voter Access Fellowship is a part-time, experiential fellowship designed for people who want to build practical campaign and voter protection skills through structured training, mentorship, and supervised project work as part of a statewide, data-driven program.

Voter Access Fellows should be passionate, hardworking individuals looking to learn

from and be a part of one of the most high-profile races in the nation in 2026. Fellows will work with Voter Access Staff and will gain exposure to multiple core program areas, including volunteer recruitment and retention and voter education principles.

What You’ll Learn and Experience

As a Voter Access Fellow, you will gain experience in:

  • Organizing & Relationship Building
    • Learn how to build trust with volunteers, community organizations, and local stakeholders while representing a statewide campaign.
  • Professional Campaign Skills
    • Develop skills in data entry, reporting, event coordination, time management, and collaborative team workflows using professional campaign tools.
  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Participate in training, staff meetings, and mentorship opportunities designed to prepare fellows for future leadership roles in voter protection.
  • Strategic Exposure
    • Learn about Michigan Election Law and how voter protection operates within a Coordinated Campaign.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Passion for voting rights, progressive values, and electing Democrats up and down the ballot
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and employ creative problem solving
  • Good communication skills and relationship building
  • Flexible, adaptable, and solutions-oriented.
  • Must have access to a cell phone and laptop or computer.

Salary, Benefits, and Logistics

Hours: 12 hours per week, flexible. Evenings and weekends may be required.

Location: Must be located in Michigan

Classification: Part time, temporary, non-exempt stipend

Stipend: $15/hour, maximum 15 hours per week

Reports to: Deputy Voter Access Director for Programs
