Coordinated Campaign Digital Organizing Director

The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party is hiring a full-time Digital Organizing Director for the 2026 cycle. This is a mid level position for those interested in digital organizing. We are looking for a tech and new media savvy individual who’s passionate about engaging people digitally and connecting volunteers from across the state together to make changes in their communities.
As the Digital Organizing Director, you will be at the forefront of our campaign’s digital strategy, leading the charge in crafting compelling narratives, fostering engagement, and utilizing social media and relational organizing platforms to amplify our message and ability to organize across the state.
The Digital Organizing Director reports to the General Elections Director, interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis with an ideal start date of March 23rd. This position will be based in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Responsibilities
- Program Development: Develop, manage, and execute the digital organizing program for the Coordinated Campaign, including email, social media, and web platforms, using creative and strategic tactics to achieve organizing targets.
- Digital Volunteer Coordination: Build and manage scalable digital organizing opportunities for volunteers, integrating remote engagement with on-the-ground field programs to strengthen coordinated campaign goals..
- Metric Development and Reporting: Partner with the General Elections Director to establish clear success metrics for the digital organizing program. Produce regular reporting on program performance, growth, and engagement, and translate data into actionable strategy.
- Platform and Operational Support: Serve as the primary administrator and operational lead for core organizing tools — including relational organizing platforms, peer-to-peer texting, predictive dialers, and emerging digital infrastructure — ensuring programs run efficiently and securely.
- Digital Messaging & Copywriting: Develop compelling, on-brand SMS and digital messaging for programs, events, and rapid-response moments. Create toolkits and guidance that empower organizers and partners to execute effective digital outreach.
- Innovation & Trend Integration: Monitor evolving digital trends, platform updates, and best practices in online organizing. Pilot and implement new tactics that expand reach, deepen engagement, and modernize campaign strategy.
- Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Coordinated Campaign leadership
Requirements:
- Proven experience in digital program management for a democratic campaign or related roles
- Strong writing skills with a wide range of tone and personality
- Proficiency with VoteBuilder (VAN)
- Ability to work across departments and with external partners
- Ability to work both diligently and independently as needed
- Ability to work long or irregular hours, including nights and weekends
- Reliable access to transportation
- Cultural Competency – Able to build authentic relationships across lines of difference, such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class, ability, gender identity, citizenship status, or other identities. Understands how to take an inclusive lens into all aspects of work
- Support for all of our DFL endorsed candidates.
Preferred but not required:
- Minnesota experience or ties to the state
- Familiarity with organizing tools such as relational platforms and peer-to-peer texting
- Experience working with remote volunteers
- Experience working with programs like Mobilize and text banking
Compensation: Salary is $6,500-$7,500/month, commensurate with experience. Employees of the DFL are paid on a bi-weekly basis and receive a competitive benefits package including health care and dental.
