OVERVIEW

The Field Fellowship, run through the Progressive Turnout Project (PTP), is open to anyone seeking an opportunity and experience in legislative campaigns. The 2026 midterm elections are of critical importance to keeping the DFL majority in the Minnesota Senate. Field Fellows will work directly on an individual state senate campaign for a specific candidate. The core focus of this fellowship is on field operations and direct voter conversations through canvassing, allowing fellows to work closely with campaign staff and volunteers while gaining hands on exposure to the day to day operations of a political campaign.

For this opportunity, we are looking for candidates in the Twin Cities, Moorhead, Duluth, Rochester and St. Cloud.

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Fellows will gain practical experience in:

  • Field organizing, direct voter contact strategies, and meaningful voter conversations.
  • Coalition building and community engagement

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with a specific candidate’s campaign to implement field priorities for the 2026 cycle.
  • Focus extensively on direct voter outreach efforts, primarily through canvassing and phone banking.

  • Must be over 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong interest in Democratic politics, public service, and civic engagement.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and during key campaign activities.
  • Experience with organizing, student leadership, or community involvement is a plus but not required.
