BACKGROUND:
The National Domestic Workers Alliance organizes domestic workers in the United States for respect, recognition and labor standards. We work to guarantee labor protections for domestic workers by winning legislation at the state level, pushing for regulatory changes at the national level, through culture change work, and by elevating domestic workers as key leaders in building a powerful movement for social and global justice.
Our sister organization, Care in Action, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit, nonpartisan group dedicated to fighting for dignity and fairness for the millions of domestic workers in the United States, most of whom are women of color and immigrant women.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Care in Action is seeking a Field Manager to lead our strong civic engagement and electoral programs! The Field Manager will manage paid and volunteer voter outreach and build the civic engagement of women of color using direct voter contact tactics including canvassing, phone banking, and peer-to-peer texting.
The Field Manager will work under the supervision of the State Director to execute a grassroots field program. The Field Manager will lead all voter outreach staff and oversee and implement an innovative door-to-door canvassing operation. Additionally, the Field Manager will be responsible for managing and executing the overall and day to day operational tasks necessary to run the civic engagement program.
PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage a powerful civic engagement operation, including volunteer and paid voter contact, focused on activating and mobilizing women of color

Implement statewide voter registration campaign focused on unregistered voters of color

Train, coach, and manage organizers and canvassers

Lead implementation of goal setting procedures and quality control measures to ensure integrity of the work

Liaise with finance, human resources, and administrative departments to ensure smooth functioning of the program

Execute day to day administrative responsibilities to run the civic engagement program, including collecting hire documents, timesheets, processing reimbursements, and serving as the main point of contact for canvassers and phone bankers

Conduct daily meetings/check-ins with team

Develop relationships and partnerships with local community, existing NDWA affiliates and chapters, and other allies focused on base-building with domestic workers

Execute campaign plans and effective organizing tactics including traditional grassroots voter contact

Manage team to meet goals and to meet all data and reporting deadlines
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must live in GA
-
2-3 cycles of field organizing experience with increasing responsibility

Expertise in 501c3 and c4 voter contact, including paid canvass, voter registration, volunteer management and phone banking

Experience building broad based coalitions

Experience with voter files and voter contact work

Excellent communication skills and organizational skills

Commitment to racial, social, and economic justice

Belief in the leadership and political power of women of color, especially Black women

Understanding of issues facing low-wage workers, immigrant and Black communities, and other communities of color

Commitment to support Black organizing and civic engagement, including following the leadership of Black and brown women

Willingness to work long and unusual hours, including nights and weekends

Willingness to travel and reliable access to a vehicle are required

Work with the national NDWA team to meet all legal and ethical requirements of a civic engagement organization

Relentless drive, tenacity, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to advance our mission and values

Attention to detail and the ability to manage the minute aspects of a project such as paperwork, onboarding, off-boarding, timesheets, scheduling, internal and external deadlines, etc.

Ability to work effectively with a wide range of personalities, peers, public officials, and allies

Pro?ciency with computer operations and programs

Experience running data-driven, digital-first campaigns is strongly preferred

Proficiency in any of the following languages considered a major plus: Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, or French
