Communications Advisor

The Nevada State Democratic Party is seeking a talented and motivated Communications Advisor to focus on uplifting Nevada Democrats’ accomplishments and holding Republicans accountable for their out-of-touch agenda. In 2026, Nevada will once again be a competitive battleground state where voters will make their voices heard in elections for Governor, all four additional constitutional offices, three out of four frontline congressional districts, and determine majorities in the State Legislature.
The Communications Advisor will report to the State Party Senior Advisor. This job is based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Including, but not limited to:
- Staffing party chair for press-facing events
- Acting as an on-the-record spokesperson for NV Dems
- Managing and responding to incoming media inquiries
- Pitching and shaping stories with local and national media outlets
- Building relationships with reporters in Nevada and across the country
- Planning and executing creative earned media campaigns, including virtual and in-person press conferences
- Drafting and editing written materials including but not limited to talking points, op-eds, memos, press releases, and media advisories
- Working with surrogates and stakeholders to carry our message across communities and platforms
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent writing skills and understanding of NV Dems’ message
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to operate cross-departmentally and with outside organizations
- A passion for electing Democrats up and down the ticket
Preferred Background and Experience:
- Ability to speak and write in Spanish
- Ties to Nevada
- Previous statewide campaign experience or official side experience
Compensation
- Salary: $7,000 a month
- Health insurance including dental and vision included
