Role Overview

The Data Director is a senior leadership role responsible for building and executing the data strategy for the statewide coordinated campaign. This role oversees the voter file, targeting, analytics, and reporting infrastructure to support voter contact programs and drive data-informed decision-making across campaigns and stakeholders.


Core Responsibilities

Data Strategy & Campaign Support

  • Work with General Election Director, Organizing Director, Political Director, and GOTV/Training Director to develop and execute statewide data strategy, including targeting, persuasion, mobilization, and volunteer recruitment
  • Partner with leadership and campaigns to translate strategy into actionable data plans
  • Collaborate with state, national, and local partners to align data usage and reporting

Voter File & Data Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee the statewide voter file, ensuring accuracy, access, and data integrity
  • Administer VAN/VoteBuilder, including user access, data sharing, and governance
  • Build and maintain data systems, pipelines, and integrations across campaign tools

Analytics, Reporting, & Insights

  • Deliver regular and ad hoc reporting on voter contact, turnout, and program performance
  • Develop dashboards, visualizations, and presentations for leadership
  • Analyze trends in voter registration, early vote, and turnout to inform strategy

Team Leadership & Training

  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development of data staff
  • Conduct regular check-ins, performance evaluations, and coaching conversations
  • Lead training and support for staff, campaigns, and partners on VAN and data tools
  • Establish systems for accountability, support, and performance tracking

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 3 cycles of campaign or political data experience, including at least one cycle in a senior data or analytics role
  • Demonstrated experience managing a statewide voter file and administering VAN/VoteBuilder, including user access, committees, and data governance
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with large, complex datasets
  • Experience building and implementing targeting strategies for voter contact programs (persuasion, mobilization, and turnout)
  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret voter contact, turnout, and registration data to inform campaign strategy
  • Experience managing staff and leading teams in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Track record of communicating complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize across multiple workstreams and meet tight deadlines
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and attention to detail
  • Access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to move to Las Vegas, Nevada by May 1st, 2026
