Position Overview: The Political Director is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing the coordinated campaign’s political and coalition strategy. This role serves as a key advisor to campaign leadership and leads engagement with elected officials, candidates, coalition partners, and key constituencies to ensure alignment with campaign priorities. The position acts as the primary liaison between the campaign and external stakeholders, managing relationships, navigating political dynamics, and driving coordinated engagement across Nevada.


Core Responsibilities

Political Strategy, Stakeholder Engagement & Coalition Building

  • Develop and execute a statewide political and coalition engagement strategy aligned with campaign goals
  • Build and manage relationships with elected officials, candidates, coalition partners, and community leaders
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the campaign and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and coordination
  • Advise senior leadership on political dynamics, stakeholder relationships, risks, and opportunities
  • Identify and drive opportunities to activate stakeholders, surrogates, and coalition partners in support of campaign priorities

Candidate Coordination & Political Alignment

  • Partner with leadership and allied organizations to recruit and support candidates across the ballot
  • Serve as a resource for campaign staff on coordinated campaign engagement and structure
  • Facilitate communication and alignment between campaigns, stakeholders, and the coordinated effort
  • Monitor political, legislative, and policy developments and advise on implications for campaign strategy

Team Leadership & Program Management

  • Manage political and coalition staff, providing coaching, feedback, and professional development
  • Oversee execution of political outreach programs and ensure alignment with campaign priorities
  • Support the growth and effectiveness of coalition and constituency programs
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
  • Partner with Organizing team to align coalition engagement with field programs
  • Work with Communications team to coordinate messaging and surrogate engagement
  • Collaborate with Data team to identify priority constituencies and inform outreach strategies
  • Coordinate with Training & GOTV Director on stakeholder engagement and activation during GOTV

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4+ years of political, campaign, or advocacy experience
  • Strong experience building and managing relationships with elected officials, stakeholders, and community leaders
  • Experience working on campaigns or in coordinated campaign environments
  • Experience managing staff or leading teams
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Experience working in a battleground state or coordinated campaign
  • Experience working with coalition partners or constituency groups
  • Familiarity with campaign operations and organizing programs
  • Nevada experience is not required but is strongly encouraged
  • Access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to move to Las Vegas, Nevada by May 18th, 2026
