Organizer

Location: Southern or Northern Nevada
Reports To: Regional Organizing Director
Position Overview: The Organizer is responsible for executing voter contact and volunteer organizing programs within an assigned region. This role will recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers to support canvassing, phone banking, text banking, relational organizing, and other voter engagement efforts in support of Democratic victories up and down the ballot.
Organizers serve as the foundation of the coordinated campaign’s grassroots operation and play a critical role in building relationships with voters, volunteers, local stakeholders, and communities across Nevada.
Core Responsibilities
Field Program Execution
- Implement all aspects of the voter contact program within assigned areas, including canvassing, phone banking, text banking, and relational organizing
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and interns for organizing programs and events
- Prepare and distribute scripts, turf, materials, and organizing resources for voter contact activities
- Support execution of early vote and Election Day organizing programs
- Meet daily, weekly, and phase voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals
Volunteer Recruitment & Community Engagement
- Recruit, onboard, and retain volunteers through events, direct outreach, and community engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with volunteers, supporters, local stakeholders, and coalition partners
- Attend community events, canvass launches, trainings, and campaign activations to strengthen local engagement
- Identify and develop volunteer leaders to support organizing efforts within assigned communities
Data & Reporting
- Submit regular reports on voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and organizing metrics
- Maintain accurate and timely data entry in VAN/VoteBuilder and other campaign systems
- Track organizing activity and ensure adherence to campaign reporting standards
- Communicate organizing progress, challenges, and opportunities to Regional Organizing Director
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Organizing, Political, Digital, and GOTV teams to support campaign priorities and voter engagement efforts
- Coordinate with Training & GOTV team to ensure volunteers are prepared for voter contact programs
- Support additional campaign events and priorities as assigned
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Volunteer, internship, advocacy, or organizing experience in a campaign, nonprofit, or community setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse communities
- Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful working environment
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with VAN/VoteBuilder, MiniVAN, or similar organizing tools
- Experience recruiting or managing volunteers
- Spanish fluency or additional language skills
- Nevada ties or battleground state experience
- Willingness to work nontraditional hours, including evenings and weekends
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability to live/work in Las Vegas, Nevada
Hourly Pay
This is a non-exempt position. Hourly rate will be $17.75, less all applicable deductions and withholdings, and payable through NVDems’ standard payroll practices. You will be expected to work at least 55 hours a week, and will receive overtime pay at a premium rate of 1.5 times your regular rate of pay (i.e., $26.62) as required by applicable law. This means that you can expect to receive biweekly pay in the gross amount of $2,218.60, less deductions and withholdings, with opportunity for additional overtime as may be required by NVDems based on campaign needs.
