Title: Director of Development and External EngagementReports To: Chief Advancement OfficerPosition Location: RemotePosition Type: Full-time, exemptCompensation: $95,000-$120,000***We are no longer accepting applications for this position.***About NAL/AF: New American Leaders (NAL) and New American Leaders Action Fund (NALAF) prepare first and second-generation immigrants and refugees to run for office, win, and lead in elected office.About the Role: Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO), the Director of Development & External Engagement helps lead the advancement function across NAL/AF—driving institutional and major donor fundraising, cultivating strategic partnerships, elevating alumni elected officials as spokespeople, and overseeing a communications function that advances fundraising, partnership, and brand goals across both 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) entities. Please submit your resume and a cover letter via the link above.What You Will Do- External Engagement & Strategic Partnerships (40%): develop strategy; cultivate partnerships and media; identify and prepare spokespeople; position NAL/AF in key spaces; support CAO/CEO for external events and meetings.- Development (35%): partner with CAO on institutional and major donor strategy; plan and execute cultivation events; support meetings and stewardship; maintain moves-management systems and forecasting; translate impact into donor materials.- Communications & Brand (25%): supervise Communications Specialist; write op-eds, statements, proposals, briefings and rapid-response content; refine brand voice; prepare staff for media and donor interactions.Who You Are: 5+ years fundraising experience; team management; budget management; program strategy and execution; development fundamentals; strong written and verbal communicator; relationship builder; ownership mentality; inclusive, collaborative leader; coach/mentor; mission-aligned.Compensation and Benefits: Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits including vacation, holidays, health insurance, HRA stipend for fertility and gender affirming care, 401K with match, FSA, life and accident insurance, optional disability insurance, monthly telecom stipend, and annual WFH stipend.
