Purpose:

The Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee (DACC) seeks a highly motivated Caucus Campaign Director to oversee and coordinate legislative campaign efforts across New Jersey’s districts. This position's primary goal is to streamline voter outreach and engagement by working closely with district legislative field directors and outreach teams. The Campaign Director will develop strategic plans, manage staff, and ensure that voter communication is consistent and efficient across the state.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Campaign Strategy and Coordination: Work directly with field and outreach directors to implement voter engagement strategies and create operational efficiencies in communication across legislative districts.
  • Staff Management: Hire, train, and manage core campaign staff. Evaluate employee effectiveness and restructure roles if necessary.
  • Outreach Coordination: Ensure that outreach teams are equipped to engage voters effectively through various media, including digital platforms, mail, and in-person events.
  • Program Execution: Mentor campaign managers and field directors with day-to-day campaign goals, including communications, field operations, and strategic planning.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Maintain relationships with caucus members, candidates, local political leaders, and allied organizations to ensure collaborative efforts.
  • Training and Development: Build and maintain an ongoing staff training program to prepare the campaign team for the election cycle.
  • Communications: Develop and implement a communications plan to keep local activists, donors, and stakeholders informed. Utilize innovative campaign communication tools to enhance outreach efforts.
  • Reporting: Regularly update the DACC Executive Director on campaign progress, operational efficiencies, and voter outreach outcomes.
  • Compliance: Work with compliance teams to ensure all finance reports and required documents are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Miscellaneous: Handle additional campaign-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three cycles of campaign experience.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, delegate tasks, and work in a fast-paced campaign environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to adapt strategies based on campaign dynamics.
  • Familiarity with New Jersey politics and the political landscape is preferred.
  • Experience in communications planning, fundraising, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities:

This position requires working extended hours, including evenings and weekends, and traveling across New Jersey.
