Position Summary

A State Assembly campaign based in Albany, NY, is currently hiring a Deputy Campaign Manager. The Deputy Campaign Manager will oversee campaign operations, field plan, managing staff and vendors, and onboarding new staff, interns, and volunteers. The deputy campaign manager reports directly to the campaign manager.

Ideal candidates should be highly organized, efficient, and capable of showing leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and implement a comprehensive campaign field plan emphasizing messaging, outreach, and voter engagement/mobilization.
  • Define roles and negotiate contracts with all staff.
  • Set priorities in the campaign schedule and coordinate the candidate’s schedule
  • Creation of field program proposals and operating plans
  • Hire and manage campaign staff.
  • Tracking and assessment of the program and recommending methods to improve contact quality and campaign messaging
  • Micro-targeting likely voters through research of demographics, economic profiles, and local issues
  • Manage the campaign’s budget and cash flow
  • Recruitment, hiring, and training of Canvassers, Volunteers, and Field Organizers
  • Fulfilling other duties as required

Qualifications: The ideal candidate would have at least two cycles of prior campaign experience and preferably one year of experience in a management role. Experience working in Albany, NY, is preferred but not required. In addition, an understanding of VAN and access to a car.
