North Shore Strategies is seeking motivated and professional Russian-speaking Political Canvassers to support our grassroots field efforts in the Brooklyn portion of New York State Senate District 23.

Russian language proficiency is a primary requirement for this position. Canvassers must be comfortable conducting voter conversations in Russian and English as needed.

This is a door-to-door canvassing position throughout the Brooklyn side of Senate District 23. Canvassers should be prepared to receive assignments in different communities within the Brooklyn portion of the district based on daily and weekly program needs. This position is not limited to one neighborhood.

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, outgoing communicator who is comfortable speaking directly with voters and committed to professional, accurate voter outreach. Political Canvassers are on the front lines of our field operations, having face-to-face conversations with voters to inform, persuade, and mobilize support.

About the Role

As a Political Canvasser, you'll play a direct role in voter engagement through face-to-face conversations at voters' doors.

Canvassers will conduct door-to-door voter outreach throughout the Brooklyn portion of New York State Senate District 23, with a particular focus on communicating effectively with Russian-speaking voters.

Responsibilities include delivering campaign messages, speaking directly with voters in Russian and English as appropriate, accurately recording voter contact data, and meeting daily voter outreach goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person voter outreach through door-to-door canvassing throughout the Brooklyn portion of NY Senate District 23

  • Communicate campaign messaging effectively with Russian-speaking voters

  • Conduct voter conversations in Russian and English as needed

  • Travel to and canvass in different communities within the Brooklyn portion of the district based on program assignments

  • Deliver accurate and consistent campaign messaging

  • Record voter contact data accurately and submit required daily reports

  • Consistently meet or exceed outreach and engagement goals

  • Represent North Shore Strategies with professionalism and integrity

  • Attend trainings and team meetings to remain aligned on messaging, procedures, and program goals

  • Build positive and respectful relationships with voters

Qualifications

  • Russian language proficiency required

  • Must be comfortable holding full conversations with voters in Russian

  • English proficiency sufficient to communicate with program leadership, attend trainings, and complete required reporting

  • Able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week when the program is active

  • Excellent verbal communication skills and comfort engaging strangers

  • Reliable, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Comfortable conducting door-to-door canvassing throughout the Brooklyn portion of Senate District 23 rather than working exclusively in one neighborhood

  • Willing and able to canvass outdoors and walk for extended periods in varying weather conditions

  • Prior experience in canvassing, sales, customer service, community outreach, or organizing is a plus, but not required

  • Capable of meeting deadlines and performance targets
