About Sunrise Movement
We are fighting for a government action that actually meets the scale, scope and urgency of the climate crisis. We believe that in order to win the world of our dreams, we must build a movement of thousands of young people across race and class to take to the streets and disrupt business as usual until we force the change we need. This is also how we defeat authoritarianism. In the next three years, we must build up the capacity for mass non-cooperation, and repolarize society so that we can defeat Trump, win structural reforms to democracy, and pass climate legislation beginning in 2029.
Position
The 2026 elections will be a defining moment for democracy and our generation. Sunrise is rising to meet that moment, and we’re looking for a Field Director ready to lead our work with rigor and vision.
The Field Director will work alongside senior Sunrise leadership to design and lead an ambitious, movement-powered electoral program that takes on the threat of authoritarianism, builds youth political power, and shapes the political landscape heading into 2028.
In the primaries, they will lead voter turnout work and direct action work that elects progressive champions to Congress and shapes the narrative coming out of the primary season.
In the general election, they will lead a youth vote program that shapes key elections and makes inroads with disaffected young people. They will manage distributed voter contact programs, build organizing infrastructure that lasts beyond November, and prepare Sunrise members to defend democracy and protect the integrity of the results when it matters most.

- Work with the Political Director to set and hit weekly and monthly goals, and hold teams accountable to goals.
- Work with Electoral Team to make endorsements and coordinate (when permitted) with campaigns and partner organizations
- Manage and hire additional staff capacity as the program grows throughout the year
Strategy
- Creatively use Sunrise’s electoral work to shape the Democratic Party and the story around young people in politics
