Purpose of Role
The Girls Opportunity Alliance (GOA) Analyst plays an integral role in supporting GOA teamwide operations in service of the Obama Foundation’s mission to inspire, empower, and connect the next generation of leaders and GOA’s goal to connect leaders, strengthen the impact of grassroots organizations, and use public awareness to drive action in support of adolescent girls’ education and empowerment.The Analyst reports to the Girls Opportunity Alliance Operations Manager and supports the program's work in the United States and around the world.
Core Job Responsibilities
Executive Administration Support: Manage calendar for the Vice President and Executive Director, International Director, and U.S. Sr. Manager, Girls Opportunity Alliance and provide support with travel, expense reimbursement, materials review, and other related tasks.
Program and Event Support: Support the implementation of virtual and in-person programming for Girls Opportunity Alliance and Foundation-wide events. Assist with logistics, including scheduling, travel, food & beverage, technology set-up and support, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, preparing materials, and post-event logistics.
Operational Support: Work collaboratively to implement day-to-day operations for the Girls Opportunity Alliance team. This includes but is not limited to: scheduling, meeting preparation, Slack community management, file management, data management, budget management, compiling news clips, creating foundation-wide communications about GOA, and other similar activities. Identify opportunities to create operational efficiencies and implement solutions.
Ad-hoc Program Support: As needed, support with direct program work including but not limited to: supporting the operations of the GOA Fund, support programming events such as virtual events, background research, and other duties as assigned.
Key Deliverables/Outcomes
Executive Director’s, International Director, and U.S. Senior Manager’s calendars are managed exceptionally well, calendar is always up-to-date, accurate, and aligned with strategic objectives
Agendas, bios, talking points, background information and any other necessary materials are created and shared before all meetings
Efficient customer service for all people (internal and external) who have contact with the Girls Opportunity Alliance team
Travel and/or event logistics are booked and completed on-time, within budget, and to the team’s specifications. Submit expense reimbursements accurately and on-time
Correspondence, memos, agendas and other communications are developed on time and with minimal errors
Required Qualifications
Strong passion for women and girls issues; Experience working in girls’ education, empowerment, charity programming, or global philanthropic issues a significant plus
Highly organized and detail-oriented with a track record of meeting short- and long-term responsibilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, high volume organization
Anticipates needs, takes initiative, and is masterfully resourceful. Self-starter; acts without being told what to do
Strong team player who puts mission before self and is both self-confident and willing to take on any task, however larger or small
Exceptional writer and proofreader
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills essential; Experience with Salesforce is a significant plus
Motivated by providing exceptional customer service; warm, friendly; strong ability to communicate diplomatically across many offices and stakeholders
The salary range for this role is between $51,965 and $64,980.
This is a hybrid role based at our Chicago office in Hyde Park.
