Purpose of the Role
The Sports Facility Coordinator will lead operations for the Obama Presidential Center’s (OPC) Home Court, ensuring the facility maintains a high performance standard for guests. Managing technology systems, equipment, and coordination across teams. This role will provide key oversight for the property.The Sports Facility Coordinator will report to the Superintendent, Operations & Maintenance.
Core Job Responsibilities
Fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for programming guests, external partners, and community members, consistently reflecting the core values of the Obama Presidential Center.
Oversee facility schedule, which will compliment community and programming needs to have availability beyond business hours into the evening.
Inform staffing needs as necessary for appropriate custodial and security coverage, with support from Operations team.
Manage inventory and equipment maintenance and repair, collaborating with OPC internal teams to ensure seamless integration of programming and events.
Lead policies and procedures for Home Court, acting as facility expert.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Deliverables / Outcomes
Maintain a working knowledge of OPC operations and programming to provide a high-level overview for guests or visitors.
Act as point of contact for programming and event needs onsite, leveraging internal teams as needed for seamless guest experience.
Manage OPC Home Court scheduling; coordinate with internal teams including Operations, Programs, Visitor Experience, Security, and Earned Income to integrate programming and events into facility operations.
Inform internal team of facility needs to maintain cleanliness, safety, and top-tier equipment; engage Building Services and Operations & Maintenance, and Engineering team in operations.
Build and maintain a working knowledge of technology systems for scheduling, security, and programming needs utilizing CMMS
Required Qualifications
Minimum of two years of administrative or office coordination experience
Availability to work second shift hours and weekends
Experience or commitment to customer service, ideally in an entertainment or sports context;
Experience managing multiple responsibilities, overseeing schedules, inventories, and staffing needs
Experience in community engagement, either in outreach or program facilitation
Commitment to building a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk on foot for extended periods of time;
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer;
Ability to bend, lift and move boxes.
The salary range for this role is between $59,755 and $74,670.
This is an on-site, full-time position based at the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park.
