Job Title: Director of Campaigns

The Pennsylvania Democratic Party seeks a strategic, highly organized, and politically savvy individual to serve as Director of Campaigns for targeted State Senate races in the 2026 election cycle. This role will support candidates through all phases of their campaigns, from launch to Election Day, providing direct guidance on organizing, ballot access, and campaign infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a strong background in field organizing and communications, as well as experience navigating Pennsylvania’s ballot access requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between SDCC and Democratic candidates in targeted Senate districts.

  • Develop tailored campaign plans with candidates and managers across all core areas: field, communications, and fundraising.

  • Provide direct guidance and support on campaign launch logistics, including petitions and ballot access.

  • Coordinate with campaign staff to set and track field organizing benchmarks.

  • Advise on earned media strategy and local messaging in coordination with the SDCC Communications team.

  • Monitor campaign progress, deliver regular updates to SDCC leadership, and escalate issues as needed.

  • Organize campaign staff onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development.

  • Travel frequently within Pennsylvania to conduct site visits, attend events, and provide in-person campaign support.

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 cycles of campaign experience, with at least one cycle in a leadership or management role.

  • Deep understanding of political organizing, voter contact strategy, and communications.

  • Direct experience with ballot access and petitioning in Pennsylvania strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with VAN, Mobilize, and digital organizing tools.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with diverse candidates, staff, and stakeholders.

  • Outstanding communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with tight deadlines.

  • Commitment to electing Democrats and advancing a progressive agenda in Pennsylvania.



Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation.

  • Willingness to travel extensively and work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.


This position reports directly to the Executive Director of the Senate Democratic Campaign Committee.
