Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates operating health centers across the U.S. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) seek a self-motivated and detail-oriented Coordinator, Donor Intelligence. This job reports to the Director, Donor Intelligence & Strategic Research in the Principal and Major Gifts Department (PMG) of PPFA. The PMG department raises revenue from high net-worth individuals and families by building and deepening relationships to yield six-, seven-, and eight-figure gifts to support the mission of PPFA, PPAF, PPVotes, and the Federal PAC.
Purpose:
The Coordinator, Donor Intelligence is responsible for ensuring a consistent quality of deliverables for workstreams overseen by the Donor Intelligence team. The position will manage multiple deadlines for projects related to prospect research, high-touch donor data management, events/stewardship research, and data integrity in support of the PPFA Principal and Major Gifts department and the affiliate partners in the Collaborative Fundraising Program (CFP).
Delivery :
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Donor Intelligence & Strategic Research, the Coordinator will provide strategic and proactive research to members of the PMG Frontline team and CFP affiliate partners. The Coordinator will perform in-depth research on current and prospective donors to help expand relationships and inform effective engagement. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, organized, data-oriented professional with exceptional written communication skills. They will ensure the quality of donor intelligence and overall high-touch donor data integrity of the PMG portfolio and will collaborate with both internal and external audiences including PPFA staff, affiliate partners, donors, and volunteers.
● Assists with research requests and analysis on high-capacity donors from PMG and
CFP fundraisers, as well as prospective campaign prospects/donors; contribute to supporting the management of the Research Request queue.
● Identifies new Discovery prospects with the capacity to make PMG-level investments in Planned Parenthood as well as in CFP markets.
● Assist in the analysis of wealth screen data and conduct bulk wealth screens.
● Ensures the accuracy of donor intelligence within the Salesforce database including relationships, wealth information, and capacity ratings.
● Performs and compiles research on event attendees, assists in the preparation of event briefings and completes donor intelligence data integrity follow-up work on events.
● Perform general database management as it relates to frontline fundraising.
● Assist in the preparation of proposals, reports, correspondence, gift acknowledgments, event briefings, donor/prospect meeting briefings (as needed), and large-scale donor mailings.
● Support major gifts officers in documenting all fundraising activity in the database and hard files.
● Through involvement with professional organizations such as Apra, keeps abreast of best practices, ethics, and fundraising industry trends and adheres to Apra’s code of ethics.
● Assists in the auditing, maintenance, and review for accuracy of donor records.
● Conduct administrative responsibilities such as note-taking, scheduling, and data entry, and invoice processing as needed.
Engagement:
The position will coordinate and collaborate with members of the Donor Intelligence (70%) and Prospect Management teams, the broader Principal and Major Gifts team (30%), and affiliate participants in the Collaborative Fundraising Program (CFP) to align on needs and processes related to prospect research, event research, high-touch donor data quality and consistency. The Coordinator, Donor Intelligence will advise on process needs and improvements related to donor data capture and clarity, internally and with CFP participants.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
● At least 1 to 2 years of related experience in fundraising, research, data management, administration, and/or analytics.
● Natural curiosity and ability to synthesize large amounts of data into a clear and concise format.
● Strong analytical, organizational, time management, and communication skills.
● Exceptional attention to detail.
● Excellent problem-solving skills, initiative, and resourcefulness.
● Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environment with multiple clients and stakeholders, both internal and external.
● Ability to work independently and manage large projects; ability to investigate an issue and ask thoughtful questions.
● Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google G Suite Business Solutions.
● A keen interest and flexibility to quickly learn new systems and software; experience with relational databases (SalesForce, Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud CRM) a plus.
