Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates operating health centers across the U.S. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) seeks a Manager, Retention Marketing & Monthly Giving. This job reports to the Associate Director, Monthly Donor Program Marketing in the Direct Response department of PPFA. The Manager, Retention Marketing & Monthly Giving will support planning, analysis, design and execution for marketing campaigns focused on elevating donor value by increasing loyalty and retention of Direct Response Donors giving up to $999.99.
The Direct Response department raises funds from individuals through mail, telemarketing, canvassing, and online solicitations. The Direct Response team generates over $200 Million in revenue annually. The Direct Response team includes the Monthly Giving programs that provide a steady and dependable source of income that enables Planned Parenthood to protect reproductive rights and ensure access to quality reproductive health care for anyone who needs it. With this vital, consistent funding, Planned Parenthood can act at a moment’s notice to protect reproductive health care and rights.
Purpose: The Manager, Retention Marketing & Monthly Giving will develop and implement marketing campaigns that maximize donor value and focus on strong retention and file growth. They will serve as the point person and subject matter expert of file health reporting that will enable the Direct Response team to identify trends and opportunities up the donor Pipeline. The Manager will bring marketing and donor experience expertise to elevate performance and overall donor value.
Delivery :
● The Manager will support the execution of donor-centric, multi-channel integrated communications to Direct Response donors and work in collaboration with all relevant teams on implementation. This includes communications with audiences housed on multiple databases and managed by different payment processors and business rules. The goal is to offer donors ways to donate when they are ready and through their preferred channel that offers a seamless and positive experience.
● The Manager will support the overall Retention Marketing efforts of the Direct Response program. This includes the planning of campaigns to support donor loyalty through segmentation, marketing clusters and donor journeys up the pipeline. This includes (but is not limited to) developing strategy, supervising the design and production of acknowledgements, welcome series, loyalty & cultivation content, sustainer billing and upgrade.
● Work with the Associate Director, Monthly Donor Program Marketing to develop business intelligence tools and relevant, actionable metrics and analytics. Create and maintain campaign level results of Telemarketing, Mail, Email and Face-to-Face to identify potential enhancements to campaign strategy, backend processes, and third party partner management.
● The Manager will support growth opportunities such as marketing for and promotion of multiple monthly giving pledges.
● Implement strategies for Sustainer and Retention related Telemarketing campaigns, both standalone and integrated with multi-channel efforts.
● Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to promote EFT payment processing across all channels and efforts to elevate retention rates.
● Other projects as needed
Engagement: The Manager will work collaboratively with multiple internal departments and teams to develop and implement integrated campaigns focused on Monthly Giving invite, conversion, and upgrade, as well as donor stewardship innovations beyond recurring giving audiences. They will also work with external and internal teams to optimize reporting and apply analytics to the management of the program. The Monthly Giving and Retention teams interact with PhilComms, Finance, Mailroom and Facilities, RevOps and Development Systems (database operations), Digital Fundraising & Supporter Engagement, Collaborative Fundraising (Planned Parenthood Affiliates) as well as all President’s Circle (mid-level).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
● Three to five years of work experience in fundraising, advocacy, or related commercial enterprise, especially direct experience with monthly giving programs.
● Strong reporting and analytical skills as well as attention to detail and understanding of backend and infrastructure.
● Proficiency with standard fundraising data, metrics, and reporting processes and the ability to provide original output.
● High-level written and verbal communication skills necessary to produce memos, presentations, procedural documentation, agendas, etc.
● Proficiency in Google/Microsoft documents, presentations, and spreadsheets.
