Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates operating health centers across the U.S. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund
(PPAF) seek a knowledgeable and experienced Procurement Risk Manager. This job reports to
the Associate Director, Procurement in the procurement department within the Finance division
of PPFA. The procurement department negotiates costs and prepares contracts to ensure that
PPFA acquires the goods and services critical to achieving its mission timely and cost
effectively.
Purpose:
Together with a team of individual contributor risk specialists, they will enable and actively
deliver risk management for the suppliers. The Procurement Risk Manager reports to the
Associate Director, Procurement, who in conjunction with the Director of Procurement will set
the overall strategy, direction, and priorities of the entire team and the function overall.
Delivery:
● Develop, implement, own, and execute third-party risk management processes in
coordination in alignment with PPFA’s Third Party Risk Management and Partner Intake
frameworks.
● Recommend upgrades and adjustments, as needed, to strengthen, improve, and
expedite PPFA’s Third Party Risk Management framework in collaboration with Associate
Director, Procurement.
● Leverage risk data and third party risk systems to monitor, manage and report out on
third party risk.
● Develop sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of goods and services used
by PPFA.
● Elevate or escalate risk issues and mitigation options in a timely manner
Engagement:
The Procurement Risk Manager partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to manage
third party risk and is responsible for consolidating risk management practices across our key
supplier and business units in collaboration with risk stakeholders in IT/IS and Legal.
● Work closely with the Office of the General Counsel to make sure contracts and terms
are most favorable for Planned Parenthood and meet or exceed policy requirements.
● Operate as the escalation point for procurement risk management, including being
seen as a ‘go-to resource’ across the organization.
● Partnering with Contract Managers/Specialists to understand contractual risks.
● Influence suppliers and business partners to ensure compliance with risk management
policies, and to drive findings and violations to closure.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
● Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred.
● Advanced/strong work experience in managing the risk and compliance issues.
● Familiarity with Coupa spend management software or similar procure-to-pay solutions.
● Experience developing and completing third party risk assessments.
● Strong business background; experience gathering and interpreting risks and
associated impacts in context of financial and operational concerns.
● Strong background in Operational Risk principles, General Risk & Compliance (GRC)
systems and various technologies focused on managing ongoing third party risks.
● Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
● Strong oral and written communication skills.
● Commitment to PPFA’s mission and diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly

Reproductive Health.
Travel: As needed
