Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates operating health centers across the U.S. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) seeks a Senior Recruiter who will be responsible for leading and driving the recruitment, selection and hiring process. This role has no direct reports and reports to the Senior Director, Talent Acquisition in the People, Culture and Equity Division and People Experience and Development team of PPFA. The People, Experience & Development team operates as a Center of Excellence (CoE) that enables & enhances the organization’s ability to attract, develop & retain the talent necessary to transform and optimize the role of the National Office.
Purpose:
● Drive full cycle recruitment by sourcing, screening resumes and applications, identifying and hiring viable top talent who exhibit organizational values and meet the required skill set for senior and executive roles at the PPFA National Office.
● Manage recruitment process for high level technical and professional roles within the organization.
● Drive an active diversity, equity and inclusion initiative to attract and hire diverse candidates.
● Ability to manage a fluctuating recruitment volume of 10-40 or more positions.
● Refine recruitment processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness in attracting and retaining top talent.
● Advertise PPFA as an employer of choice, build knowledge of organization mission, goals, culture and benefit offerings to promote open positions.
● Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and organizational policies.
Engagement:
● Partner with hiring managers to create and implement innovative sourcing strategies to develop a strong talent acquisition process that promotes forward thinking recruitment.
● Collaborate with hiring managers (Sr. Director and above) to align on hiring criteria for open roles.
● Build strong rapport with hiring managers to understand talent needs and deliver exceptional customer service.
● Drive hiring managers to manage the recruitment process efficiently.
● Build a talent pool by managing relationships with various sourcing channels including job boards, universities, community organizations, social media, employee referrals, and networking events to reach diverse candidates and grow the talent pool.
● Attend and participate in hiring and career fairs events and recruiting sessions.
● Screen applications, select qualified candidates, schedule interviews; oversee preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
● Conduct initial phone screens and virtual in-depth interviews to evaluate candidates' skills, experience, qualification, competencies and cultural addition to PPFA.
● Coordinate one on one and panel interviews with hiring managers and hiring team.
● Create efficiencies with panel selection, interview scheduling (SLAs) & reduce time to fill.
● Demonstrate a proactive approach to maintaining communication with hiring managers about open position status and metrics. with making informed hiring decisions.
● Maintain clear communication with hiring managers, candidates and new hires, ensuring a positive experience and foster engagement through the process.
Delivery:
● Post open positions on internal and external job boards and other advertising platforms.
● Develop strong system administrator capabilities for the Lever applicant tracking system.
● Manage and ensure accurate recruiting analytics and KPIs.
● Leverage existing networks and build new ones, to increase organizational opportunity awareness in addition to a stronger candidate pipeline.
● Individual contributor with no direct reports or management responsibilities.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
● Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or other relevant field preferred.
● APHR, PHR, SHRM, SHRM-CP, AIRS CIR, CDR, TAS and other HR or recruitment related certificates preferred.
● Minimum 5 years of previous high volume recruitment experience required.
● Proficient with or ability to learn HR databases (SuccessFactors), applicant tracking software (Lever) or other recruitment systems & candidate management systems required.
● Experience with full cycle recruitment and general recruitment strategies with a proven track record of success required.
● Proficiency with Google Workspace or related software required.
● Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
● Proven ability to recruit diverse talent is required.
● Professional approach with an ability to build and maintain relationships required.
● Excellent interpersonal skill, time-management skills and multitasking ability required.
● Track record of recruiting at all levels for non-profit roles related to organizing, advocacy, and electoral campaigns, public policy and communications a preferred.
● Familiarity with labor laws, employment regulations, industry trends and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment preferred.
● Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative is preferred.
● Results oriented and data driven is required.
● Commitment to PPFA’s mission and diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly surrounding race equity.
● Commitment to Planned Parenthood’s mission of promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health is required.
Travel: 0-10% domestic
