We seek to hire a high-impact Director of Strategic Sourcing. This job reports to the Senior Director, Procurement on the Procurement team within the Finance division of PPFA, which partners across the organization to optimize total cost of ownership, mitigate risk, and generate mission-advancing savings.
Purpose:
The purpose of this role will be to transform PPFA’s Procurement posture from reactive purchasing to proactive value creation by designing and executing strategic sourcing strategies that deliver measurable annual savings. This will include the following actions:
• Lead market assessments, competitive RFx, negotiations, and award execution for high-spend categories, ensuring robust stakeholder alignment and contract readiness.
• Leverage rigorous, data-driven spend analysis to pinpoint the products and services that drive the greatest financial impact, then design and champion strategic sourcing plans that optimize total cost of ownership, mitigate risk, and deliver mission-advancing savings.
• Establish foundational supplier-relationship-management and category-management frameworks to sustain continuous improvement and innovation.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing Contracts team.
Engagement:
• Build Partnerships with Finance, IT, Office of the General Counsel, and other org unit leaders to understand upcoming needs for high-spend products or services and co-develop sourcing roadmaps.
• Proactively cultivate trusted, ongoing partnerships with business-unit leaders who manage high-spend portfolios, sharing actionable insights, co-prioritizing upcoming needs, and aligning on sourcing road-maps so that every major project benefits from strategic procurement support.
• Facilitate cross-functional sourcing committees and quarterly supplier business reviews, fostering transparency and shared accountability for results.
• Serve as the public face of Strategic Sourcing within PPFA, presenting outcomes and insights to executive leadership.
Delivery:
• Identify, prioritize, and deliver sourcing initiatives with realized and measurable savings that contribute towards Finance’s overall goals for the organization.
• Translate spend analytics into a sequenced pipeline of sourcing initiatives and lead cross-functional teams through market assessments, competitive events, negotiations, and award execution, ensuring each engagement meets or exceeds agreed savings, service, and compliance targets.
• Continuously refresh and monitor spend data to identify the next wave of high-value opportunities.
• Quantify cost avoidance and non-financial value-add (risk reduction, service enhancements) in partnership with business partners and FP&A.
• Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
• Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA or relevant master’s is preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive sourcing/procurement experience, including ownership of strategic categories such as information technology, professional services, clinical supplies, or similar is preferred but not required.
• Managerial experience with a proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams in fast-paced, complex environments is required.
• Demonstrated record of multimillion-dollar savings and complex contract negotiations.
• Strong analytical capability—advanced Excel, financial modeling, and spend-analytics platforms.
• Exceptional influence and change-leadership skills across executive, legal, and program audiences; CPSM, CSCP, or equivalent certification a plus.
Travel: 0-5% domestic travel for stakeholder workshops, conferences, and system-partner engagements

Roles that are denoted as NYC, DC, or both will work a hybrid schedule and are expected to work in their assigned PPFA office a minimum 2 days per week unless the role is denoted as onsite, which requires working onsite full time or 5 days per week.
