Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for Congress is currently looking to hire a Data Director for the 2024 Campaign cycle.
Purpose/Summary:
This position is only until June 2024 with the possibility to extend to November 2024.
The data team is tasked with establishing the baseline of quantitative data needed to successfully operate our electoral and organizing initiatives. The data team provides information needed for field tasks as it relates to VAN and access to streamlined voter data, also provides training for staff so they can continually expand their electoral organizing skill sets.
There are three skill areas that the campaign is seeking. Strong knowledge in democratic electoral platforms is required: know how to navigate and use common Democratic electoral platforms such as Votebuilder, Thru, Reach, or Mobilize. Working knowledge in these competency areas is preferred:
- Data management and administration: experience building replicable systems, setting policy, and documenting processes.
- Visual and data analysis: demonstrable examples of data visualizations with an emphasis on insights and actionable analysis.
Responsibilities
The Data Director’s primary responsibility is to generate data products for the campaign’s organizing activities. Duties include:
- Administering Votebuilder and other voter outreach tools
- List creation for texts, phones, and turf in conjunction with the Organizing team
- Managing data volunteers with the volunteer coordinator
- Training staff on critical data processes
- Voter universe guidance and assistance
- Troubleshooting and communicating to support teams when systems or processes encounter errors
Competencies:
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Able to pivot quickly to other tasks
- Fluent in CRMs (Votebuilder, Salesforce)
Optional qualifications:
- Knows phone and texting platforms for direct voter contact (DVC)
- GIS, Tableau, or other visual analysis platforms
Salary & Benefits: Compensation for this role ranges from $85-95,000 per annum based on experience. This role is eligible for benefits including medical benefits including vision/dental, accumulated paid time off. This is not a Campaign Workers’ Guild eligible role.
