As we scale our services across Massachusetts, Texas and beyond, the CTO will play a critical role in establishing a secure, scalable, and compliant technology framework to support our AI-driven initiatives and mission.
Job Summary:
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead the development and execution of Link Health’s technology strategy, with a focus on implementing advanced AI tools, ensuring cybersecurity, and leading a diverse tech team. This role calls for a seasoned leader with a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to mentor and manage the team. The CTO will be instrumental in advancing our mission by driving AI projects that enhance patient outcomes and expand access to social services. This role will be compensated through a 1099 contractor pay arrangement of $4,000-6,000/month depending on experience level and hours committed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
AI Development and Integration
- Enrollment Automation and AI-Driven Support: Oversee the development and deployment of AI-driven tools designed to assist patient navigators by automating eligibility assessments and streamlining enrollment for federal benefits like SNAP, WIC, Medicare Savings Programs, and Lifeline. The CTO will lead efforts to use machine learning models that optimize application processing, reducing human error and increasing efficiency.
- Integration with team workflows: Ensure AI tools integrate seamlessly into Patient Navigator workflows, enabling the delivery of strong and seamless service to Link Health’s patients.
Cybersecurity Oversight
- HIPAA Compliance and Data Protection: Ensure that all AI tools and digital infrastructure comply with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations, safeguarding sensitive patient information.
- Security Audits and Protocols: Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, implementing proactive and advanced security protocols to prevent data breaches and safeguard patient privacy.
- Incident Response Strategy: Develop a comprehensive incident response plan, including data privacy protocols, to maintain patient trust and mitigate risks.
- Establish and maintain a disaster recovery plan to ensure business continuity in the event of technical failures or breaches.
- Cyber process management: Manage internal resources and external contractors to improve cybersecurity and data privacy.
Internal Technology Oversight
- Device and browser management: Establish protocols for supporting and maintaining secure access and patient privacy within both company-owned devices and devices used in Link Health’s BYOD environment.
- Software management: Manage key pieces of organizational software and optimize usage of software stack, in particular Google Workspace.
Team Leadership and Development
- Manage the Tech Team: Lead a diverse, multi-skilled tech team, fostering a collaborative environment that values each member’s strengths.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner closely with patient navigation and enrollment teams to align technical initiatives with Link Health’s operational objectives, emphasizing user-centered design.
- Provide strategic coaching sessions to support team members in adapting to new technologies and work processes.
Strategic Planning and Implementation
- Develop and execute a strategic technology roadmap with clear milestones and deliverables, ensuring all initiatives align with Link Health’s mission, scalability goals, and long-term vision.
- Develop short-term and long-term technology goals with clear KPIs to measure impact on patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Education and Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in technical leadership roles, with a focus on managing diverse, multi-skilled teams.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach technical teams, fostering collaboration and skill development.
- Experience working cross-functionally with operational teams to align technical strategies with organizational goals.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working at a computer.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel a minimum of twice per year.
